Coach Sanders wants the knife removed from his back

I wanna know what a knife in the back gotta do with NFL teams not drafting HBCU players. Can someone explain that?
I believe one of the knives "could be" perceived to have been thrown and held by the likes of people like Ken Rashad by just being overly unnecessarily critical. There are a few more that can be named, but this one comes to mind first because of the incessant and constant behavior at every opportunity.

So you don't know either, huh?
OH!! I know, undercover. I know! And for the Chicken Goerges that talk that "We had coaches like Eddie Rob, and other NFL coaches that was here before him doing this and that before him. He's not the 1st" isht. Well, nobody never said he is the 1st. Someone had to lay the foundation and someone has to build on the foundation. Like the Bible says, "One plants, another waters." Let the man build on the foundation that has been laid, he's not trying to build on a different foundation, but the Chicken Georges can't see this. They're too busy buck dancing in front of their glow lights and phones, podcasts, TV cameras, etc... to understand this.

There was one HBCU player drafted last season and only 8 non-FBS players taken in 2020. This year, there were only seven non-FBS players drafted. It seems the pandemic really hurt guys playing at the lower levels of college football.
It did mainly because the FCS decided to play a Spring Season. I believe 2 to 3 of the players drafted from FCS opted out of their season and/or played a significantly reduced schedule which allowed them to participate in private workouts and the combine.

I think so too, with players opting out it left voids for other players to step in that wouldn’t other wise get a lot time. I think this led to more draftable players in the pool especially from the bigger programs. Lower level FBS, FCS, and beyond got the short end.

Now see, how is it that you know this (which is true) but your head coach doesn't? Because he swears up and down he saw players he played against this spring deserved to be drafted.

There were actually fewer draft-eligible players in the pool this go around (657) compared to 2020 when there were over 1,800. Because of that, teams were going to hone in MORE on FBS guys. 56 percent of all players who got drafted this past weekend were from the SEC, Big 10 and ACC.

Also, a lot of those postseason all-star games and regional combines got canceled because of COVID. Those are avenues where FCS, D2 and D3 kids could get on teams' radar.

Are there any players in the SWAC that you believe are draft worthy now?
Yeah, there are a number of players that are "draft worthy" that don't get drafted. But you didn't answer my question.

How is it that you and others on here know that those players who played spring ball weren't eligible for the draft, but Deion didn't?

I take that as a Yes
Its his camp so he can extend an invite to whomever. In reference to Mike Leach. "I don't recruit against them. Now you can take from that what you will" Coach Prime
I'm not denying the "yes."

Yes, I have a problem with it!

From day one, all Deion has been talking about is how players should attend HBCUs to play football, and NOW all of a sudden, he wants to invite SEC schools (who have NO PROBLEM recruiting kids not their own) with another avenue to recruit talent?

If you don see that contradiction in that...

You do realize that kids are attracted to SEC schools right? And perhaps maybe, this may draw more participants to the camp? And with more participants (volume), means more opportunities to identify kids that you may not have been aware of! At the end of the day, this is about exposure for the kids as well as branding and recognition for Jackson State.

If we can get a good crop of kids that usually opt out of FCS for JUCO in hopes of getting an SEC offer, we will be doing damn good! With the extra Covid year backlog, transfer portal and the JUCO backlog, this could be the beginning of something beautiful for HBCU's.

Orrrrrrrrrrrr maybe it's for promotional purposes. SEC can't take everybody. These are all valid questions you can ask coach Prime directly when you get that interview 😆
