What he said and hopefully you will come out with a win as well!

I think Miss. State's coach wanted his team to experience playing in a hostile environment early in the season in scheduling JSU at the AAC. It seems Miss. State folds in hostile environments.

"For us, man, I just can't be prouder of my team today," MSU head coach Vic Schaefer said. "You talk about competitive, tough. I just thought my team just fought tooth and nail today in a really hostile environment. Credit to the community, for the people that came out supporting women's basketball. A great crowd out there today. It's great for our game."

These schools play at HBCUs to either bring a current player back to their hometown... or they have a big time recruit from the area
I suspect it's definitely not a Goodwill Tour at least as far as MSU is concerned, except for maybe showing their fans and recruits in the metro area some love! They whopped us real good up in their place last year before the Team and Coach Reed settled down. Hopefully, the game in November will be more competitive and interesting.

With that said, it should be a good game. Interested in seeing how JSU looks. They improved as the season went on last year. This team should be even better. This game just might put the SWAC on notice.

This team should definitely be better. We didn't lose much to graduation and she recruited a good amount of proven transfers and height. It took about 5 or so straight Swac losses before she switched up her defense and went on a run. Shes a keeper from the looks of it. Ironically the last time our girls won a championship is when she was coaching.

You all have a young lady, I think she is from Brooklyn.......She is "ready." I hope that game will be on the internet or ESPN3 because I would like to see how they fair at home against that caliber of competition.

Nah. MSU has three players 6’5” or taller. Another at 6’4”. Primary recruiting target is 6’7”.

Ameshya is good, but State has moved on.

Looking forward to seeing how she plays against her old squad though. Should be fun.

eerrrhhh...what I posted is called a joke.....LOL

(Looks like we're going to have a little extra help from our bench)

JACKSON, Miss. – Jackson State women's basketball coach Tomekia Reed announced today that Jackson native and former Syracuse and WNBA player Juanita Ward has joined the Tigers coaching staff.

"I'm beyond thrilled to join Jackson State University and the women's basketball program," Ward said. "I need to thank Coach Reed for allowing me to join her staff. I'm excited to get to work with such a talented team."

Reed is excited to have Ward on board.
