You Got Folks Making More HBCU Band Highlight Videos Than Football Highlight Videos

Lol y’all know good a damn well if you put in Florida Classic, Magic City Classic, etc...halftime shows and 5th quarters pop up
Sure, there are some highlights of HBCU football online...but it’s very few compared to where it should be. Some athletic departments post content...others don’t. It is what it is.
I will say this, however, more people are posting highlights now...and I think we are beginning to see a surge of HBCU athletic content online.

I said it time after time, these old ass outdated ADs are not doing anything. They are stuck in 1998.
Bama and other school have all-access, even the lower FBS schools, you can simply watch or pull up highlights. Not us, unless we playing these cac schools, or if it's the Bayou Classic in SU case.
It ain't up to the common fan to go and produce a project, what I look like going into somebody else backyard cutting their grass?? You state to them, what is wrong and it's up to them to cut the grass or do better. Until then, I will continue to talk about your grass and dusty ass yard.
I aint for one, doing anything. The University get game checks. SU made over 1 million dollars in 2 years, and you can't cut a 5k-8k budget to produce content around your football team?
You can charge a small fee or include it in the season books you sell to make some money. During that dead time, (Spring) folks want to see something everyday in regards to the team that's returning.
SU had a good QB competition and it would have been good to see day to day interactions that went on during training days.
I aint holding nobody hand. What I look like cutting somebody else grass or using my resources to do something that the school should be doing?? Crazy.
Folks kill me with the "ole you wanna see something then, you do it" No those who are position (SU board) should get up off their asses and do it, f'k l look like doing their job, they get paid for that. It's their school and they are the ones to get paid to present new innovative ideas.
I see SU band year round, they give you the whole 9, access to their band room, practice, how they arrive at the stadium etc. Good ass content. I can count on one hand if that, the number of times I've seen SU boardroom or inside their locker room unless they are doing that wack ass WAFB special. We should have our own dayum special, relying on that crap. Smh.
Love my school, but dayum, we gotta do more and give the fans more.

Alabama doesn’t even do all that for spring practice. That’s an ESPN production.
Going to the Bama football site you find one highlight video of the first spring practice session. It’s 30 seconds of players doing drills in slow motion. There is one highlight video of fall practice. It is also 30 seconds in length. There is no sound of players or coaches talking.
The most prominent football content are Saban press conferences and player interviews. That’s it.
Being around Oklahoma State for two years you see the difference money and man power can make. OSU has a production team dedicated to producing all sorts of multimedia content. The stuff they produce less than 24 hours after a game is amazing.
As far as HBCUs are concerned, you have to look at how large these support staffs are before determining if the comparisons you’re making are fair

Breh, that's an excuse that we want to sit on.
These schools can hire folks, hell I post video clips of folks who are not even part of any media team associated with the University and they do their own highlights of the games.
Money and man power, what the hell does that even mean??
HBCUs schools, some of them, have money and man power breh. Miss me with that excuse/statement from 1998.

I posted the "training days" that ESPN (picked up), but Bama has been doing this content before it was picked up by ESPN
Give me another excuse, or something thoughts from 1998 so I can debunk that sht outta the air

This is a Rivals affiliate site. A third-party production (like ESPN). It may feature content about Bama, but it is not owned by Bama. This is not produced by Bama Athletics.
Exactly. The problem that many of us make is we try to compare what we do to what the P5 and G5 schools do and that sometimes isn't the right comparison to make. Considering that SWAC and MEAC are FCS conferences, one could argue that we would be better off analyzing what other FCS programs are doing with the intent on making progress in the areas of marketing and so forth. I'm not saying it isn't impossible to take away some things from the FBS schools, but when you're dealing with limited budgets and resources, FCS programs might serve as a better reference point. IJS.
It means the school has enough resources to delegate singular responsibilities to people. If you're a photographer, that's all you do. If you do video, that's all you do. If you social media, that's all you do. If you deal with the website, that's all you do. There aren't folks dealing with a bunch of different responsibilities at bigger schools. They have specialized duties.

The schools need to invest in them more so the good ones don’t go.
Some people ain’t cut out to handle multiple tasks so when they get it they’re overwhelmed and make it seem like their overworked.
You gotta know what your school needs first and go from there. This generation of students are visual and react by seeing.
I saw firsthand recently how they react once you tell them they can work games for a certain 4 letter network.

I was like that when I was in school (although I wanted to do more on the radio side than on the TV side. I didn't want to move to Connecticut to make $15,000 a year). That's why I want our schools to utilize the ESPN3/ESPN+ avenue more so that these students can have a resume ready with ESPN broadcasts on it so that if that is their goal, they would be glad to do these games

A Communications department student street team could get this stuff done.
But what Kamala and Bighead are asking for isn't just football videos, its a culture change. And that's harder to do than just make videos. It requires a lot of folks saying "lets do things differently" and we dont do that well. Its like asking for a 1 hour worship service
