I disagree. Y'all got more excuses than anything. It's a slap in the face that HBCU bands have higher quality video footage and more widespread video footage than the damn HBCU football teams. But, y'all are fine with that. I see that now!
See. Y'all know damn well these HBCU ADs and SIDs are resting on their laurels when it's cheaper than ever to produce high quality video content. But, you rather attack someone who points out a better way. I know my people. I love us but I know us.

As what someone said earlier about 4K cameras, I agree for the most part except I also known that I have been interviewed at the local TV station here and the reporter interviewed me with his IPhone so recording shows can be done in high quality with a smartphone (with the bracket) but generally a good DLSR camera with 4K capabilities will run you over a cool G brand new.

I know SU and JSU put out top notch quality band videos. Those two always stick out when I see them. The other schools like PV, Alcorn and UAPB put out solid stuff as well on Facebook with good quality but haven't seen any pop on Youtube yet. Even UAPB now has upped their game as far as Facebook is concerned
I guess my thing that I keep focusing on is being in control of our own content because in 2018, content is everything. I am not disagreeing with the exposure aspect because i agree with as long as we get out there, it's a good thing. However, at the same time, I don't want to see us short changing ourselves as far as possible revenue streams. I know SU and JSU (well most of the SWAC schools) have some type of arrangement in which this stays in house. I would love to see a SWAC school get a multi-million deal to provide content to a Revolt or other media entity while keeping all the production in house. If you got a channel that is generating a few million views a year, it is possible

The bands are the biggest ambassadors for HBCUs. WE (black people) love music and having a good time. Band isnt seem as something nerds do in the black community like it is in the white community. Of course there will always be more HBCU band clips than football clips.
And I hope you didnt make this as a shot to black people and HBCUs..because every white school doesnt have a Youtube page for their teams. And if you want to be real, I follow a lot of HBCU athletic YouTube pages, and some of them are better than some ACC schools (Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, etc) that I follow.
I cant believe you brought up Alabama like that is supposed to be the norm. They are on a historic run right now, and other SEC teams dont even have media pages like them.

What I said about Alabama is that there are so many content creators who have produced and do produce Alabama football content who aren't affiliated with the University of Alabama. That's what I said. And, I compared and contrasted those content creators with HBCU band content creators versus the lack of HBCU football and overall HBCU athletic content creators. I'm surprised there are so few HBCU athletic content creators when the HBCU band content creators are seemingly prospering. And, I believe that HBCU athletic departments are especially missing out on partnering with these HBCU band content creators to get them to create HBCU athletic content. The HBCU band content creators are already at the HBCU football games so give them access to make football content and pay them.

honestly, it takes much less to do a band video than an athletic one. The band has 8 minutes to perform and drones cut out alot of work which means someone can focus on other areas which are basically stand footage. Bands are more popular now cause people have devoted segments to the dancers and more casual folks are involved.

When I say content I mean more than on the field footage. I see videos of the band and dancing dolls being made of them walking from the band room to the stadium and the like. You can have football footage of guys in the weight room, coaches making speeches before the game, halftime adjustments being made, etc. Athletic footage is more than the game itself. Creating your own content is a way for HBCU athletic programs to really sell themselves.

Bands have a niche audience. You have tons of middle school, high school, college, and alumni folks interested in seeing the band and dance team performances. Then you have folks from outside of our demographic that also want to see the same thing. You can't go watch Ohio State play the new Migos and Cardi B (at least not an enjoyable version).
