So far he's said all the right things. He's preached speed, but he also mentioned that he wants to bolster the OL and DL. I'm not too worried about our OL, because we were very solid in that area and the bulk of the line returns in 2018. As far as defense goes, we've always had speed on the outside, but looking at the guys he's bringing in to go along with an experienced DL, I think Simmons has done a tremendous job in getting guys who can get the job done in the trenches.
With that said, I do want to see the product on the field before I get too excited.
Man. Dooley bringing in those Landry-Walker SU/GSU bloodlines to PV. Damn.
that was started back in 2014 with a player named Damond Jackson.
Not like this my brutha. Mark my word, you will see more Landry Walker kids at PV. Dooley is loved on the bank by a GSU-SU high school coaching click. Karr and St Aug will start sending more kids to PV while Dooley is in town as well. Good luck to Dooley.
Those are some high quality athletes....(as I'm sure you know)

PVAMU Signee DePriest Taylor named TSWA 5A Defensive Player of the Year
BRYAN - Manvel senior linebacker DePriest Taylor was named the Defensive Player of the Year on the 67th Annual Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 5A all-state football team.
Taylor had 119 tackles with 12 of them for sacks for Manvel, which fell to Highland Park in the Class 5A Division I title game, though Taylor had 10 tackles, half of them for losses.

PV has recruited New Orleans in spurts back to the 70s when President AI Thomas made coaches recruit his brother’s players from NOLA. The last PV draft pick was from NOLA.
You may get a few more cause of Dooley.
TSU was real popular with NOLA at one time as they begged to come there. They signed Bruce Eugene.
I wouldn’t say “real” popular, but the name was there.
There are about 4 river parish wild cards that Dooley has in his hand. Just remember this post come signing day next year.
What'cha saying base? Sound off!!!!!!!! What's what for 2019?
Thanks to back-to-back signing classes before this year that were high school-senior heavy — plus this year's juco additions — JSU is going to find itself with 62 players who will either be sophomores or juniors in 2018. And nearly all of them, to a man, has already seen significant playing time.
Basebone is my boy... lol BUT he always wrong... LOL
What is interesting is that JSU is the only SWAC member without a player on the Top 40 list according to HERO so I do question the validity of the player rankings. Here are the numbers::
GSU - 5
PV - 5
ASU - 3
ALCN - 3
AAMU - 3
MVSU - 2
SU - 1
TSU - 1
UAPB - 1
Ok TP that's what I like about you being so predictable with your follow-up response.According to the experts, JSU never has the top recruits. But we are tops at getting W's. That's what matters!
