Willie Simmons is leaving PVAMU for FAMU

SHSU's offense is averaging 46 points per game. I wonder if their OC got any calls from SWAC ADs with openings...
Good question. I’ll bet the answer is no though. That antiquated pro-black stance coupled w/ their own prejudism will prevent them from calling someone qualified while seeking the services of someone unproven and unqualified. The truth always hurts. :D

The OC just got there. He's running Keeler's offense that was also the #1 offense the previous 2 years. Not saying the guy isn't good, but he's been around for a while at various schools and no "other" schools have offered him HC jobs either.

Kinda’ sorta’ like no SWAC schools went after Keeler or Fritz either.

~snickering to myself~

Well.... they were longtime head coaches so it's hard to know what any school did or what THEY would have done when they got their SHSU jobs.

*playing miniature violin for that same old tired worn out song played on HBCU campuses*

Sing it j4l!!! Sing it w/ passion lol. Cannot speak for others but I know PV didn’t contact either. #fact

I wish SU could have gotten Fritz when Pete "left" but obviously that never would have happened with who was calling the shots for us back then.

Fritz was very proven. The numbskulls in charge for our deal were clueless as hell. Fritz at SU? Top-3 annually until he was lured away by fbs’dom offers.

So Haywood is really making $300k? I know high school ASSISTANT coaches who turned down offers to be assistants because the salaries were better in HISD.

So how much are assistants making in Houston ISD? I couldn't verify any of the assistant coaches salaries nor could I find their allotment.

I refuse to believe any of our football coaches make less than HISD assistant coaches. If you were to say baseball, soccer, or bowling. I would agree.

Crazy thing is that TSU isn't listed here but PV is, and I'd imagine salaries are similar. Bubba McDowell was making under 66k before being bumped to interim. KJ Black 45K, a few other FOOTBALL assistants within that range. FCS position coaches don't necessarily make more than high school assistants, especially if those assistants teach STEM as well.

That's Keeler's offense. Their OC just got there this season.

A good example of why you need people on these committees who really know how to view a candidate's resume. At JSU, they bring in people on a 15 person committee and Im willing to bet you that only 2-3 of them MAX can tell you about best OCs, DC's, etc....right now. They start from ground zero with resumes.

Not for a school that's balling.

We only have one coach making less than 60k. I can see how a high school assistant can make more than a TSU or PV assistant coach by coaching other sports, having a masters degree, and taking on other roles within the district. I thought STEM teachers make the same as all teachers.
