Willie Simmons is leaving PVAMU for FAMU

Yeah...the three best HS coaches in terms of success and State titles are all in Tallahassee at FAMU and FSU.

Billy Rolle is a FAMU alum who won state titles at Miami Killian, Miami Northwestern and Miami Southridge (last year)...his OC at Miami Northwestern is now on Willie Taggart’s staff at Florida State...Telly Lockette also won state titles at Miami Central.

Tim “Ice” Harris who is rumored to join the staff at FAMU, led those lethal Booker T. Washington teams from a few years ago...he left briefly to become to RB coach at Miami...but returned to BTW once Mark Richt took over.

Hopefully all of this comes to fruition.
 
Florida A&M: Source tells FootballScoop former Alabama A&M head coach James Spady will join Willie Simmons’ staff at Florida A&M. Although we hear Spady will have the associate head coach title, actual coaching role seems on hold pending finalization of staff hires. Before taking over at Alabama A&M (2014-17), Spady coached offensive line or tight ends at South Carolina State, North Carolina Central, Grambling and Nevada.
 
If he’s coaching O-Line then I’m sad to see Edwin Pata go...the players loved him and his O-Line was much improved this season. Did a great job helping us establish the run for the first time in YEARS(since Philip Sylvester was a RB) and kept our QB off of his ass all season.

With that said, I’m looking for to Spady coming in and seeing what he can with a veteran O-Line.

I can also confirm this information.
 
Spady is a hbcu guy anyway so this is at home for him this has a feel of trying to land in his feet. That being said he should do great as a position coach. This is more of a opportunity for him to step away and ride the horse. He probably won’t be a head man again
