Is PB back at full strength from a numbers perspective?
Edit:
Congrats
@96lioness
First of all let me stress that
I don't know very much about football! I've been picking against my team for quite some time, but that was because I've been going by what I've been seeing for the past 2 seasons.
Now, on to your question. I'm not exactly sure as to what you mean by "a numbers perspective". We were able to get back to being a 63-scholarship team due to a couple of fundraisers and that $900,000 grant from the NCAA. And I don't know how our depth chart looks. During the 1stQ of the game, I saw what I've been seeing over the last 2 years; defense not tackling worth a flip, giving up way too many yards, and our offense doing the same 3-and-out on downs.
HOWEVER, I also saw a lot of good things. Last night was the first time in
YEARS that I saw my boys score in the 1stQ of the game! I saw our offense go with the no huddle, something that is
EXTREMELY rare for us. While it came during the 3rdQ, I saw our coaching staff
ACTUALLY make the necessary adjustments that
ACTUALLY paid off. I saw that we had a longer TOP than usual. And I saw something that I never thought I'd ever see Coach Coleman do again......GO FOR THE 4TH DOWN!!!! I was totally shocked when he went for the 4th the first time, but when he went for that 4th and 7 and we converted on a 10+ yard play, I almost passed out!
But we still have such a long way to go, a lot of work to do, and a short time to do it. I'm still not convinced we're where we need to be, but I think all I ever really wanted to see was my boys put forth a real, concentrated effort. I can honestly say that if we never win another game this season, it wouldn't matter to me because I finally got to see something I've been waiting for a long time to see..........one game where my Golden Lions didn't give up!
