I like that idea as well.

Needs some young minds up there breh (no diss to you older wise dudes on here) but them folks are just dumb, can't make money to save and produce a good product to save their life.

What conference in Football that has 2 divisional sides, doesn't play for the ship at the end of the year??

I'll wait

Almost sound like we lost Toyota as a major sponsor for these events.

Remember there is only the semi's and finals being played now and Toyota Center was basically empty. If Prairie View isn't in the finals, I don't think the capacity will matter. Look at how it's been these last few years even with stu in it, attendance hasn't been stellar.

Yeah, that's kinda what it sounds like. And yeah I don't disagree, but still.....5K?

Man that's what motivated these kids to continue to fight

I can remember Odums giving that speech after SU lost to JSU in 2013, saying "we'll see'em again" and SU went on like a 6 or 7 game win streak

Now if we lose to JSU or Alcorn, it won't be no more, "yea yall be us the 1st time, but this time, it counts here"

Like the whole "f-kery" of awaiting the Ship game is gone.

Boring ass Swac conference here we come...

You get yo ass blew out by a team in the regular season from the other side of the division, you play your heart out to see them again at the end of the year.

Coaches have to make adjustments and game-plan again, the fans talk more shat, that just elevates the game more so.

JSU vs SU in Houston was up there. Just because we owed them that ass-kicking. The epic finish was amazing, now we won't get that no mo smh.

IF it doesn't Make dollars it doesn't make sense.

That was the same philosophy when it was in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) today announced that it will forgo its football championship game following the 2017 Toyota SWAC Football Championship.

Well......lol

That was the shortest lived 7 game mandate in history. Back to playing each other.

Now they putting all their beans into the ESPN POT that can be dropped at any time.

Guess, our leadership had to reaffirm that they are a bunch of idiots.

Remember how we were all so excited to dip from Birmingham to Houston, newer and better facilities etc. Remember how the free usage of Legion Field and all of the ancillary things that came with that free usage. Remember that $500,000 a year the City of Birmingham was providing the SWAC each year until they dipped but that $500,000 has not been replaced by the city of Houston or any other sponsors? Welp.....

@The Founder 9-game conference schedule isn't necessary either, along with divisional play. An 8-game conference schedule is a happy medium, and also allows more opportunity for money-making OOC games for SWAC members... All you gotta do is drop one school off annually (with certain exceptions, of course)

Man you know that's too much like right. LOL...these cats going back to a 9 game mandate. If cost were a problem all they had to do was get the school with the best overall record to have the game at their university coupled with a few events. It could potentially be a double homecoming for some schools.

No exceptions needed....

They will have to look at doing it past the 2019 season as some schools have already scheduled more than 2-3 ooc games already with home and homes.

the only games I would except in an 8-game schedule are Bayou Classic, Magic City, Labor Day, Jackson-Alcorn and Valley-UAPB ... everyone else can roll off annually...

We already don't get visiting teams to travel much during the season. What makes you think they will do it in December. Problem is with the weather and travel for housing. Most folks will just say fcuk it and plan for Atlanta over last minute travels to a unknown location.
