My point is Steve Harvey meeting with Trump is like me going out in public with a white woman. It would go against everything I've been preaching for the last forty years. Could you imagine seeing my picture posted on here with Becky..... Just saying....

I'd say that's one of your compromises...but no harm to anyone. But, if Steve H is going to work with him on housing then Steve H better not be silent while health care is taken away or other shenanigans are going on. Basically, the first thing politicians do to silence dissent is find a person who can reach a lot of folks and...uh...do something to keep him from riling folks up. Steve H won't be the last celebrity rolled out.

I guess you know all this stuff though based your background though.

I can't speak for anyone else 33, but for me, the issue isn't the fact that they are meeting with Trump. For me it's what being said to the media AFTER the meetings. Everyone, so far, including MLKIII is saying, "we have to work together in order to move forward", but it doesn't seem as if any of the people who have met with Trump have bothered to hold him accountable for his past actions/rhetoric in insulting black folks, the president, hispanics and everyone else in between. And if they have, they haven't said anything about it.

I am one individually thinking individual that is not a fan of steve's. How many of his fans will be influenced to "give donald a chance"?

donald understands image and perception. steve has fallen into the trap of thinking he can change the leopard's spots. steve also thinks he is more important than he is because the peotus called him for a sitdown. The ego is a mofo.

Trump just clowned a Civil Rights Icon and trashed the man's district which is the heart of Atlanta but none of the guys meeting him are saying anything about this.

I could've sworn I watched one of his speeches where he eloquently states the truth back in the 1960s and here we are some 50+ years later.... Same ol' same ol'.

Roland Martin had a good discussion on his show this morning about calling trump out on his discrespect of President Obama and the black community. He also said that if he was invited thathe would have a lot of questions for trump and would discuss them publicly to his listeners. Trump needs a Roland Martin Meeting.

Trump doesn't need to meet with Roland Martin. He needs to meet with folks working at the grassroots level. The people who are outchea in the middle of it all working every day to try to solve some of the issues that plague our communities.

Those are the leaders. Those are the important people. Not the black elite in entertainment.

Yeah, he needs to go to ground zero in the inner cities to meet with Black business leaders in the community, the teachers/schools and actual folks who live there. He should have done that campaigning instead of just the Black Church.
