After 4 1/2 decades without a championship it's time for Valley to seriously consider DII

Great but at the end of the day the football program is the face of the athletic dept. that puts the biggest burden on it. When was the last time you heard of a school dropping basketball , baseball or soccer because of the cost? Either way the record speaks for itself and that isn't debatable

Schools routinely have dropped baseball because of cost.
Howard, for example, dropped its baseball team.

Clearly your to immature and uneducated on the subject to have this conversation so you may want to put me on ignore until you can grow up.

If you knew anything or actually had some sort of rational thinking process you would know that 1. PV was working with non-shorlarship players primarily when they had re-organized their program after voluntarily dropping it for a year. 2. I didn't mention anything about kicking Valley out.

I promise I didn't read a damn word of this. More bitterdog logic

Just letting you know that even with all of SU's APR issues I have never got up enough nerve to start a thread suggest kicking them out of the SWAC or dropping down to D2. That's asinine. But somehow you got the grapefruits to post a thread saying we should drop to D2. Then when people call you out on some bitterdog logic about "non-revenue sports not creating a bill" you wanna get mad. Or when someone mentioned that Vandy has never won the SEC and that they should drop down as well, bitterdog logic kicks in.

Approaching BH23 level of clown posts.

That's a lie no D1 school routinely drop those sports .If you don't have anything but silly back and forth just to see yourself print you could do both me and Kenn a favor by saving the ban width.

You're sounding real stupid right now. You actually want folks to believe you just randomly started calling me names out of anger for absolutely nothing because you didn't read a word that I typed and you just wanted me to know about SU apr issues because of course I'm not aware of them.
Yeah you're sounding really stupid right about now.

This is bitterdog that we are talking about. They like to see their own font on the screen and feel good about themselves. F common sense and logic such as what you posted which anyone without some type of TP like disdain for Valley can see

No disrespect to PV but if they weren't kicked out for fielding non-scholarship athletes for a while then the talk of anyone suggesting anyone to drop down to D2 is ludicrous. If your school has pretty much been under APR sanctions for a decade fielding a lot of ineligible teams bringing shame to the conference you have no ground to stand on starting a thread about anyone needing to drop down. That's that one trick pony mindset that I get on people about on Facebook

In all fairness to PV, we SHOULD have been kicked out the SWAC when we offered zero scholarships for those 6 years/2 yrs @ 15 partials/fulls and created that 80 game skid which brought shame not only to the great history of PV but also brought shame to the great conference and those who built it. I watched us bullshit for 10 straight years w/ bullshit and clueless "athletic" admins drawing a check as well as dumbasses attempting not to "recruit" and "coach." Their version of recruiting was putting flyers in alumni hall (the mess hall) and begging for anyone who thought they could play ball to come on out. Especially the fat boys who were ineptly not college football material.

Watching us get throttled by D-II Tarleton St for 4 full quarters was something that still raises my ire. Losing 92-0 to Bama St still raises my ire. That 80 game skid still raises my ire. We had a BUNCH of dumb asses employed @ PV, unfortunately. Becton/Hines should NOT have brought ANY sports back to campus unless we did it all correctly, which the "white man" @ aTm lol had to show the "dumb blacks" @ PVAMU how to effectively run an athletic department. Thank Allah, God, Rah the Sun God, Athena, Zeus, Buddha, Confucious, et al "gods" for intelligent white folks lol. :D The truth hurts. :D

Okay P you've done you're self defecating for the day but none of that changes the fact that PV and UAPB both re-organized and came back and won titles and put consistently competitive teams on the field. Unfortunately for UAPB they've hit hard times again not of their own doing.

Is it obvious that I'm still mad about those former dumb mf'ers we employed back then? :D

Naaaaah......I couldn't tell. lol

It shouldn't have came to that point, blue. And then to top it off, those dumb mf'ers were stealing athl $$$$ and doing stupid shat w/ university equipment, not just losing accounting of athl $$$$$. "Ohhhhhhh I'll jus' borrow that Toro riding lawnmower used to keep the football/baseball fields cut for my 2 acres @ da' house... the school won't care.... and while I'm @ it, I'll borrow the university owned truck and trailer to pull it all home for the weekend.... and then I'll borrow it to my neighbor jus' down the road apiece too!"

Dumb mf'ers.

This really surprising coming from you. Is that how you felt when PV dropped football to re-organize ?

Blue, all I'm saying it by you saying they should "consider" dropping to D2 basically has the same end result as them being kicked out. At the end of the day if either happened they would be out of the SWAC.

You know I forgot all about that.

I hear ya but There's a biggggg difference in being kicked out a conference and voluntarily leaving.

Kentucky and Vandy should be kicked out of the SEC since they haven't won anything in football in 4-5 decades either. Mississippi St also.

The difference is those schools FOOTBALL programs still make money. Especially Ms State. Kentucky has invested more into Football recently. I don't think the issue is that Valley has not won any football titles. It is the fact is if it is financially smart to remain FCS level. It may be for them. I don't know. We know Ms State. Kentucky and Vandy aint hurting for money to fund all their sports.

Other sports?

I guess he didn't think that there are othe sports besides football by trying to prove his point.

You're still trying to make this just about winning a title in football.

It's apples and oranges

You posted all their football schedules and no other sports to try to make a point, so it's you that's making this about winning football.

I have some insight on the recruitment aspect...it's all bad. There are a couple SWAC programs that do a decent to good job. Most, well they have alot of hurdles to overcome that are linked to bad admin. and bad athletic dept. I have a kid it took 2 weeks to register him, get his classes approved for transfer, get him an offer and through Admissions. Most SWAC schools take wayyyyy....longer than that and sometimes lose guys that way.

Honestly, if all SWAC fans wanted to be honest with themselves, it would benefit the institution's more financially to go to D2 or NAIA in many ways. But Pride alone will prevent that. Matter a fact half of you just cringed reading it...lol.

Well, in response to the title of this thread, athletics conferences don't place emphasis on its member schools to win conference championships. It's all about adding value to the conference overall.
