Why the Celebration Bowl is hoping Grambling wins Bayou Classic, SWAC Championship

So if gram was to some how beat SU in the BC and turn around and loose to Alcorn in the championship what would be the thinking then? Everyone is talking as if it's a forgone conclusion that Alcorn would lose in the championship at the end of the day beside the gram and Arkansas game our other three loses were by a combined 16pts. So let's be clear no one knows who'll win all we know is who we want to win!!!!!!

And that my friend is what makes this entire debate at this time. It would have been best the whole this conversation until after the season was over it didn't you wouldn't be hearing all this ridiculous illogical .

Having said that I understand where Kenn us coming from I think. He's not coming from the position that you change to ncca rules and the swac becomes the only conference (which they are always bitching about falsely) to prohibit it's school from playing in a non post season ban. But to stipulate in the bylaws that if this scenario happens again you would have to have a minimum 06 wins or something similar to be eligible to go to the Bowl game.

I could be wrong.

The ban was voted for by the presidents in 2011 for both SU and JSU but changed the following seasons

Again who really cares? The point is no team was eligible even if that was the case. That's the point.

You do realize that you're staring at 2011 ncaa report and that there are no issues showing for JSU right?

There was a 3 way tie, we were banned. Head to head aamu beat state so they got the nod even though we beat them 34-6. Anyways you can continue to go back and forth with the Brave guy.

Dude I Knew that

I feel real bad for Grambling. Life too often is not fair. I blame some of this on Alcorn though for bringing bow and arrows to a gun fight.

Blame your student-athletes, compliance department, president, head football coach, instructors, parents of the student-athletes, etc. Yall didn't handle yall's business and it's our fault? GTFOH and get your athletic department on solid footing.

Um......didn't Alcorn have their own set of issues?

I hope our team kicks both Grambling and Alcorn a-- just cause. lol

Leave no doubt about who the best in the SWAC is.

I'm going to keep all eyes on the refs to make sure the fix isn't in. lol

Well I look at a totally different dynamic to this....I wonder how the attendance at the Celebration Bowl would look IF Gram were to pull off winning the SCG?

I wouldn't worry about that. Neither towns have cable for the most part so if Alcorn or Grambling (which is highly improbable) make it both townships will load up yellow school buses and make it to Houston.

Such hate cause you can't go to the ATL

Wow. Really terrible. The second year of this HBCU bowl game that ESPN includes as part of the college bowl line could possibly send a losing non champion to kickoff? On top of that, SU (who I am picking to win the Bayou Classic) is struggling on the academic front with one of the most exciting SWAC teams in the past few years. This is very ugly. In fact, doesn't SU have other major athletic teams on probation? That's really terrible.

I believe the Grambling is a fantastic team this year and can beat SU convincingly, but those mid 90's Southern ghost seem to be flying around this one.

Hell you think Mike Heyward Is the best coach in the SWAC so that's not surprising .

You brought up the NFL wildcard. Vying and wining are 2 different things. No team with even a .500 record has ever won the Super Bowl. It's nothing against Alcorn it's more as to the system that has put them in the position they are in. If everyone plays in the regular season then why play a championship game after one team has already proved during the season who number one was. Yes sometimes the team that has the best record will lose but it's hard to beat anyone 2 times in one year in football. You just worry about going to a celebration bowl and let us contenders have this one.

Buu..buu...buuu JSU wasn't good in 2011. Other than stating the obvious on those blues klues predictions this guy here needs help. He might bamboozle y'all but I've been noticing it for a long time lol
