BREAKING -- Alcorn State receives penalties for NCAA Infractions

Think twice, speak once
Alcorn State improperly certified 28 athletes in 11 sports over four academic years, the Division I Committee on Infractions announced Wednesday morning.

The committee applied the following penalties: public reprimand and censure of the school; a two-year probation period starting Wednesday and ending Oct. 18, 2018; a vacation of records for games in which ineligible players participated in; and a $5,000 fine.

damn alcorn...so does this mean yall have to send the two scg trophies back to the swac office?

The committee wrote in its report that the school will identify the competitions impacted once the committee’s report has been made public. The athletic department declined comment, while the marketing and communications department said a statement will be released.

Neither of Alcorn State’s two consecutive SWAC championships in football will be impacted, according to a source.
