Well, everybody's been joked about with APR, especially JSU. Alcorn can't and shouldn't escape the same fate of jokes.

This is basically what happened
 
Here is what I think is funny, the NCAA fined the university $5,000 but said retain the money and use it for rules education. I agree this really looks bad but it business as usual. This was all self reported by the university is my understanding so in all honesty we got off rather light by NCAA standards. No scholarships loss, no bans on post-season play, etc. "No programs were eliminated, and no programs are currently subject to a post-season competition ban as a result of the penalties. The probationary status simply means the department is subject to additional reporting to the NCAA in terms of policies and procedures."

The report lists the reason for the non-compliance as an "administrative oversight." There was no evidence of malicious intent, no willful deception. As much as it pains me to admit it, this was ignorance not cheating.

In other words, par for the course on HBCU campuses who continue to hire and retain willfully ignorant people who are incapable of fulfilling the requirements of their job function. :D I sincerely hope this trend dies a thousand deaths soonest. smh
