Alcorn State vs Bethune Cookman: Game Updates - 12:00pm CT

For as much as we like to say that Footman can't throw, the Bethune QB is just as bad (if not worse). If they don't figure out what Alcorn is throwing at them, it's going to get ugly in Daytona. Can't come from behind 2-3 scores playing MEAC ball

Another lightning delay. Game is moving to ESPN News

This is what you get when you play football games in Florida...especially near the coast...during the summer lol

yall must be used to it then. Do they let yall go somewhere and come back to the game?

I bet people go home and just don't come back like phugg it

Just a Thought: Seeing how Disney is now willing to move away from Orlando, would it not be a great idea to try and encourage that the Game be played in a closed arena (i.e., Georgia Dome in ATL)

Just a thought...if you paid any attention to this entire weekend those places were taken. That's why this game was moved from Orlando for the FSU/Ole Miss game. That's just paying attention tho

Nice try: but the SWAC/MEAC Challenge doesn't necessarily have to take place on Labor Day Weekend. The ATL Classic never did.

You just can't seem to wrap it around your head that this is real life and not an Xbox game huh?

Real life is admitting that Mother Nature will win everytime. Playing a Football in Florida in Aug-Sept. is always a gamble. A closed setting would help with the efficiency of the game. Lightening delays etc. must always be factored into any operating plan regarding football.

ESPN is going to do this for years to come to hype up this opening weekend. Can't have two HBCUs taking up spots in Orlando for two P5 teams. All those multi-million upgrades to the stadium weren't done for nothing lol

Now is the time that Disney should move this game to LA (or Houston) where there aren't these pop up storms

So your genius idea is since they moved it out of one over sized open venue that they owned because of lack of attendance. They should move it back into another over sized closed venue that they will incur even more cost. That's your solution?

662 they use Houston as well. OU and UH had it yesterday. Now going west may be nice. All the LA teams had ventured out. That would be a nice exhibition.

But if we can't get a certain conference to travel in their own backyard can we count on them to go West?

Instead of sounding like a bitter old clown when you post, sometimes show some damn restraint and keep your negativity to yourself. This ain't the first damn time the LA idea has been posted in here so instead of posting like you suck on lemons all the time, actually post some solutions or don't post. The schools didn't move the game. ESPN did. You do know that right?

@goodolebrave Maybe they can incorporate Dynamo Stadium into the rotation but I would rather them grow it in LA instead of Houston (because of the SCG and the LDC). The right matchups/teams (Grambling, JSU, etc.) will pull out the locals that hopefully will make up for the lack of traveling MEAC fans (outside of FAMU)

According to SWAC sources, officials have until 6pm central time to resume the game or it will be declared a "no contest" if there's still lightning at said time.

You could actually merge the SWAC/MEAC Challenge with the now defunct Atlanta Classic OR you could move it toward later in the season since we're doing home and home now.

According to Alcorn's media, both teams are packing their equipment and leaving. A lot of folks have left the stadium, so it's looking like the game has been called a "no contest".
In short, the game has been cancelled and there will be no make up game.
It's as if the game never happened.
