Alcorn State vs Bethune Cookman: Game Updates - 12:00pm CT

Game is Cancelled.....

In theory, I would mark it as a win for Alcorn though. Up 13-7 with a recovered Bethune Fumble deep in their own territory.

Considering Louisiana is known for torrential rains as well...there may be "tweaking" to SC State vs. SU in 2017.

Sucks for both teams and the fans. Looking forward to playing Alcorn next week though

This game needs to be in a closed arena. Whenever the Falcons aren't at Home that would be the perfect time to play it. Merge this game and the ATL Classic into one. This cancellation proves that the date must now be made mobile and flexible. ATL would be perfect. Yes, I am aware of the Celebration Bowl but the SWAC/MEAC Challenge could be like a precursor to the Celebration Bowl.

Just a Thought: Seeing how Disney is now willing to move away from Orlando, would it not be a great idea to try and encourage that the Game be played in a closed arena (i.e., Georgia Dome in ATL)
Instead of sounding like a bitter old clown when you post, sometimes show some damn restraint and keep your negativity to yourself. This ain't the first damn time the LA idea has been posted in here so instead of posting like you suck on lemons all the time, actually post some solutions or don't post. The schools didn't move the game. ESPN did. You do know that right?

@goodolebrave Maybe they can incorporate Dynamo Stadium into the rotation but I would rather them grow it in LA instead of Houston (because of the SCG and the LDC). The right matchups/teams (Grambling, JSU, etc.) will pull out the locals that hopefully will make up for the lack of traveling MEAC fans (outside of FAMU)

Before you decide to act like a bitter old bitch at least have enough common sense to know what it is you're attempting to bitch about. He didn't say anything about L.A. he made a suggestion to have it move to ATL.

Even if he had suggested L.A. and I didn't think it was an ideal idea, who the hell are you to attempt to tell me what to post or how. I have no idea what your issue is with me and I really DGAS. But what i can tell you is that you have one of three options.

1. You can keep your nose out of any conversation that I'm having when it'snot directed at you

2. You can put be on ignore

3. You can give me a call and we can arrange to meet to discuss YOUR issues and why you think you have a say so on what post and how i post it.

I give you my word that either choice will put and end to your problem.

I said a closed arena. It just doesn't have to be ATL (even though that would be my preference).

A LOT of people and organizations waisted money this weekend.

That is PRECISELY why I say the game needs to be in a closed arena setting. At minimum, you have to have a full game just to break even. We as HBCUs need to also understand our audience. Black people are not setting out there in rain and cold to watch a game. Not happening.

I thought you wanted this game to be on the schools campuses instead of neutral sites?

Can I throw out there another closed arena for consideration of SWAC/MEAC Location: The Star in Frisco, TX.

Major airlines in and out of Dallas and Southwest is headquartered in Dallas I believe. Just a Thought.

in hotel room now. We are going back out to the stadium at 7. If it is still lightning in area they are canceling it.

Big Blue, you guys kool out. Let's not make it that serious. Yall should take it to a private forum.

Yes and it can still work in good weather....but I can't help BCU is located in Florida and SU in Louisiana, both states known for t-storms and torrential rains.

The SWAC/MEAC Challenge and Celebration Bowl are unique in that you're dealing with two different HBCU conferences with two different HBCU Fanbase personalities. Now if we just talking about a regular season game Without Distinction like BCU vs. Grambling, home and home regardless is no problem.

The SWAC/MEAC Challenge is different in that you are dealing with more investors. I still would prefer home and home for the SWAC/MEAC Challenge, but the defunct ATL Classic is just sitting there waiting to be taken advantaged of.

Game to start in approximately 15 minutes. They're warming up now after two weather delays.

NOTE: Can someone please open the PV/Texas Southern thread? Fiyah and Kenn must be at the game.

yall must be used to it then. Do they let yall go somewhere and come back to the game?

I bet people go home and just don't come back like phugg it

FAMU usually plays the early September money games or we play at night to start the season...everybody knows that any outdoor activity between 1-5 in Florida is almost guaranteed to be hindered by rain and lightning...this happened at the past few MEAC/SWAC Challenges

FSU usually has weather issues for their first home game...almost always a weather delay
