Officials: Hoover spending nearly $100,000 to play powerhouse Allen in Texas

Bruh, it's not just size of schools, it'sTHE PROGRAMS!!! TX HS Coaches are the best in the nation and this is always stated when recruiting organizations talk about Football Nationally. You're naming individual players BUT not complete Teams! Did St. Aug win state with Fournette??? NO!

Schyatt, TX RB's - Adrian Peterson, Ladanian Tomlison, Eric Dickerson, Thurman Thomas, Earl Campbell, Cedric Benson.... Man please Stop already!

And in regards to Manning and Beckham, Isidor Neuman has never even won a state Championship. Another example of a school with "1 or 2" good athletes ....... Smh

Yes but have you seen Katy Schedule? They do not play schools outside of Texas on it. They have Texas Powerhouse Austin Westlake but no major talented school. Katy is the same school that can lose to a school called Cedar Hill out of the Dallas area. Put Katy up against schools out of Louisiana or Florida. You think they would still. Go out and Dominate like they do schools in Texas. Not at all.

Ummmm Cedar Hill is a beast, the talent is unreal over there, they are about to beat the brakes off national powerhouse Bishop Gorman this weekend.

The number 5 team in Texas Trinity beat the number 1 team in the nation last year, they doing it up here in North Texas

The spending on athletic facilities in Texas will come to a head one of these days in the legislature. Not soon, but one of these days. it's going to take something like the mid-80s oil bust for it to happen.

Friday I'm gonna be in SouthEast Texas to watch Highschool football then Saturday I'm going to be at the Cedar Hill- Bishop Gorman game ..Highschools filled weekend in Texas ,

C-LeB hit the nail on the head as well as Kenn. The attrition and growth of the larger suburban school districts has watered down a lot of talent as well as provided a farm type system for the larger schools here.

Pee Wee football.
"YMCA" football.
7th grade "A", 7th grade "B", and in some cases a 7th grade "C" team.
8th grade "A", 8th grade "B", and in some cases an 8th grade "C" team.
Freshman "A", Freshman "B", and in some cases a Freshman "C" team
JV "A" and JV "B" team.
Varsity comprising of well over 70+ student-athletes.

How can one not be successful by the time they reach varsity status when one has been through that type of farming system.

That is exactly right, I'm in unknown Mansfield school district and there are some beasts in these schools. My 6th grader has a team mate RB about 5'10" 155 or 165 already and he can run like the wind but my lil 4'11" 85 lb son has to deal with skill players like that all the time here in Mansfield.

My other son has a team mate that is already 6'2' or 6'3" already 240 lbs of muscle could play LB in the SWAC now, Texas has the horses

What do you mean?

I'm saying it's going to take a serious blow to Texas' economy (like the mid 1980s oil crash that hurt Oklahoma and Louisiana as well) for ISDs to stop building crazy facilities for high school sports.

Ross Kecseg with the Austin-based fiscal watchdog group Empower Texans calls the money being spent on high school stadiums “excessive.” The larger problem, he says, is school officials who combine outsize expenditures in one large bond package, leaving voters with no option to approve or reject one project over another. New school construction, building renovations, requests for more buses and other needs may be wrapped into a single request.

“When they put these propositions on the ballot, they put a whole lot of other things with them,” Kecseg said. “By law they’re allowed to separate the different requests … but they lump them all together in an all-or-nothing proposition.” http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2016/04/29/texas-schools-spare-no-expense-for-huge-football-stadiums/

Oh, and that stadium in McKinney they're talking about in the above linked article ... it's now about $7 million over budget.

Manvel was more talented. Coaching is what separates Katy. I think North Shore will be better this year than they were last year and if I am not mistaken those 2 have to get through each other to make it to state this year due to proposed enrollments.

Manvel was definitely more talented. You think this North Shore team will be better than last year's State Championship team? Defensively, that team was nasty.

That St.Aug team was loaded, they just had poor coaching.

If they were so loaded, why were they playing Fournette both ways in the playoffs? He was playing running back and Linebacker in the Playoffs.

But you did prove my point........ "Coaching"! St. Aug Fans tell the Coaches what plays to run at Tad Gormley Stadium. If you don't believe me, sit up by the press box and listen to them tell the DC and OC coordinator what plays to run. Guess, what? Them Clowns listen to the fans.......... smh!

St. Aug has sent over 35 players to the NFL and haven't won a State Championship in over 35 years! Schyatt, they can't make it out of the Quarter Finals, but will have 4 to 6 D1 Signees.

I may be wrong but I think The Colony is a part of Frisco ISD so that's one area that won't compete too much lol.
B,

The Colony is part of Lewisville ISD and is the only 5A high school in the district. All of the rest are 6A. LISD (the parents) shot down the idea of a district stadium. They were not having it. Instead, every high school in the district has it own on campus stadium, each school has its own indoor practice facility, and at least two extra practice fields. It is sick.

That's right!!!!! DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ME!!!!!! I once commuted down 121 before it became a nice wide toll road and griped @ the # of LISD buses that were making slow turns from 121 to Main St/Plano Pkwy(?) during that early evening start of traffic. smh

Yes sir. LISD is beasty--------> $$$$$$$ and FlowMou is the icing on the cake w/ the tax structure. Tour 18 anyone? :D lol

Some of these comments remind me of comments I read last year before LaSalle came to play Euless Trinity. LaSalle came in #1 and by the end of the game the band and cheerleaders were getting reps in the game.

And that same Trinity team came is 5th place in the Texas playoffs, but some of you still don't understand how they don't play about HS football in Texas

Apples and Oranges....Trinity beat Curtis the year after the national title and a rebuilding team....

You talking about the Lufkin Panthers that mighty Curtis barley beat if it wasn't for two late tds in fourth, that went 6-5 and barley made it to the playoffs just to lose in the 1st round. Your bragging about beating that Lufkin team?
Don't get confused. I am not bragging about anything. I am just throwing out facts because a lot of you all don't know what you're talking about. There is a reason as of late LSU been kicking off in Texas AM & TCU ass...LA. high school players. Per Capita TX isn't better.

Texas economy ranked 21st in nation
State also ranks near the bottom on education spending, correlation?

The Texas economy ranks 21st in the nation, according to Governing magazine, which used economic data from 2014 to 2016 to create an index.

That's a pretty middling performance for an economy once labelled the Texas Miracle because of how quickly it added jobs following the Great Recession of 2008. It turns out that all of that growth was tied to the oil and gas industry, which has taken a nosedive over the last two years.
