Helping autistic man, black therapist shot by Florida police: media

I have yet to see where anyone in this group is advocating this. Maybe I have missed that post but I do know that I have not advocated this.
I'm not saying anyone said that Herb. When I speak I speak in general turns. That's just the managerial side of that speaks in general statements instead of calling anyone particular out. Don't take it personal.

Concerning this officer I think he should be fired. Simple as that....he fired once....but to fire two additional times? That's over kill.

Hell if someone is robbing your home and shoot them once in the leg. Then proceed to shoot them two additional times and they have no weapon, charges will be filed against you by the DA's office. The police will say, "well you could have escaped the home."

Yet, police who are trained to be in these situations are excused.

I get what you all are saying, but I guess what I'm saying is we have to be realistic to. Those black officers have no more power on their jobs then you and I have. Tuesday in the barbershop this one barber told this black cop in the shop getting his hair cut that if he really supported the black community he should quit his job and find something else to do. Does that make sense? I mean sometimes we go down the wrong path without thinking. Winning a war takes critical thinking not emotional thinking. Now for what would Jesus do? He certainly wouldn't kill innocent people. I agree for the person calling they should also face charges. This is why I made the topic about dispatchers that day. Many of these white women who are dispatchers are racist and relay wrong info.
A little off topic but addressing what you posted and I promise this is the last post on this thread.
In 1986 I put my job on the line for the guys I worked with (Black, white, Hispanic, etc). The company I worked for at the time was sending techs home after completing jobs they had billed with Matrix pricing. Guys were busting their behinds installing small key telephone systems (doing 2 or 3 systems a day) and they would finish by maybe 2 o'clock. Their reward was to be sent home when they finished so they didn't get a full 8 hours though the company was billing our customer Southwestern Bell Telecom for an 8 hour job (if it was estimated to take 8 hours). I was not affected because I was working on the Brown & Root project installing 3 Nortel PBX systems in three different locations. After them complaining to the union nothing was done for them. I was not a member of the union but at the end of the project I was on I was going to be sent to St Louis to work on an install there. I was the only Nortel certified tech in the company so I told the company I worked for (Hi-Tech Communications) that if they did not stop sending these guys home early I was not going to St Louis. Well, they fired me. When I got the word I was fired I went and prayed (still on the job site) and 30 minutes later I got a call from my supervisor that if I would go to St Louis they would guarantee every tech 40 hours a week until the end of the year (this would give guys time to find other jobs if they wanted to). The reason they made that offer was because once SWB Telecom found out what was going on and that I was not going to St Louis they were going to pull the exclusive contract they had with Hi-Tech. SWB Telecom was Hi-Tech's only client and they could not afford to lose them.

I am one of the few (being facetious) guys who actually believes the shit I say. I have stood up for people because I believe in the teachings of the Christ and because I was in a position to do so. Did I get any thanks...of course not, but that is not why I did it. I felt it was the right thing to do...so I did it.

Oh yeah, before anyone thinks I was single and had nothing to lose....NOT! I was married with a house I had built and moved into in 1984 and a baby on the way.

I respect you for that, and the many folks like you that have done similar things. One of my mentors taught me early on in my career that those you sacrifice for may not give you the glory, but when you look back and see the changes made you will find joy in what you've done.

I think a number of cities need to follow the blueprint that the City of Ruston and Lincoln Parish are following. These two entities are making the police force to be more of the racial makeup of the city and parish. The mayor and sheriff has officers from neighborhoods patrolling the areas they grew up in. The is a far cry from what it was when I was coming up here.

That is the best solution to all of what we are seeing in the United States. This is the model of the Jackson Police Dept., too. Guys who grew up in the community are now policing it. What this does is establish a mutual respect (in most cases) between the suspect and the officer. Perfect example is here in this article. Obviously all situations aren't the same. But this is how almost all incidents end in Jackson. In some other places, police would've been shot this guy. But cops are feeling less and less of a need to de-escalate situations, and the (in)justice system is permitting it. We have got to find a way to get more Blacks involved in law enforcement; more of the community involved.

Around 1 a.m., JPD was conducting an administrative checkpoint on Prentiss Street near St. Charles Street when they observed a 2016 white Dodge Charger attempting to elude the checkpoint. Officers confirmed that the vehicle was reported carjacked and involved in an armed robbery on July 12, Commander Tyree Jones said in a news release.
Officers searched for and later located the Charger in the area of Eastview Street near Central Street. When the driver spotted officers, the vehicle crashed into an embankment. The driver, armed with a handgun, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers chased the subject on foot and took him into custody after a scuffle.
The suspect was identified as Lexus Russell, 24. He sustained minor injuries as a result of the foot chase and scuffle with officers. He was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for minor injuries.

+1

So many cops are trigger happy these days. This is a clear example of wanting to bring someone to custody versus killing them.

There is SOOOO much stuff like this that happens that NEVER makes the news, print, or web. And since no one ever hears about it, most people assume it never happens. And I get it....trees falling in the forest.

No they fired at times. We just don't hear about it or they use something else to fire the cop for. Mainly use something else.

Things like this is why folks hate cops. I can understand that and it does make you mad. I still can't agree with and support the folks hurting innocent one though. Now if they went and got George Zimmerman, Dylan Roof and the dude who killed Jordan Davis I wouldn't be mad at all.

Now I could get behind that movement

Tariq gave them crackers thay work,

Yall may not like him but he be spitting that truth..The term race soldiers has been born.

Fuk a firing, this race solder should be charged for attempted murder, he shot not 1,not 2 but 3 fukkin times..nah, fuk that bring charges on this piece of shit of a person.

Firing him won't do nothing but get him on desk duty in another racist ass department. I want to see that race soldier do time.
These ppl don't have Jesus and for those who don't believe in him, love in their heart
Fuk him and his family. Man look..this stuff like this will make you turn evil towards ppl.
Now let's wait on the next cop being gunned down, I wish a motherfucker would ask me why it happened.

BIG LIE!! --- This is one of the reasons people are going after police. If this is what happened, he should be fired at the least.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...lice-shooting-accidental-union-says/87414898/

Cell phone video shows Kinsey lying on his back with his arms in the air pleading with officers not to fire. Rivera said officers could not hear Kinsey's pleas and believed that the autistic man was holding a gun and was about to fire. Because of that, the officer was trying to shoot the autistic man, but he missed - and the bullet struck Kinsey instead, according to Rivera.

Was waiting for someone to post it before I started in on that. That whole scenario, as presented, is troubling. Whatever credence I gave the "accident" when listening evaporated when they handcuff the person they "accidentally" shot, you know, the one in their eyes was about to be the VICTIM!!! In this instance, with what's been made available so far, fired should be the LEAST.

this would be the top story in America right now if it weren't for the rnc & dnc conventions

but guess what lol the news story is still catching the attention of the black community..Brooke Baldwin, a white woman from Cnn, took a break from RNC coverage to say we have a problem...

they know us black people ain't gonna let them not address this travesty...the police union down there is trying to cover this up fast with big lies lol

S phi S my brother you know it's a lot of Hispanics who think they are white, especially cubans in South Florida who have light complexions.
We call them "HINO's". Hispanic in Name Only. Race really doesn't matter in some of these districts; especially in places like S. Florida where there's diversity. Most Hispanics look at Black people through the eyes of white supremacy. Even some Blacks do. That's what this peculiar institution does to its people of color.

Not all white cops are racist, but white supremacist have definitely infiltrated police forces around the U.S.

they're now shooting black men at will now because other cops who do it are being found not guilty etc.

The blue wall of silence has a new name which is blue lives matter....this consist of 90% cops around the country.

the good cops are scared to speak up cause "blue lives matter" lol....this ain't rocket science
