Is this the reason for all the teams being on the list? I'm asking because I really don't know. If so, the coaches and the admin needs to suck it up and recruit "academic but less athletic" players and ride the storm.

I understand that's all he can do since his ability to think straight was involuntarily taken away from him before he was born. Those White folks in Concordia Parish were relentlessly when it came to affecting the way Black people think in that part of Louisiana.

Probably just over a year, before Ray Belton became the President. I'm sure he is waiting until the state's budget deficit crisis is over in another year before he hires another AD.

Your argument is flawed though. From the data that you presented, there is nothing that shows how much money each university is investing in academics so a comparison between dollars spent on academics vs athletics can not be made.

You play with the cards you are given. Its up to you to put down the right card when playing - it seems y'all need a lesson on how to spend what you do have. Why would the NCAA give SU a break when Louisiana Southland schools aren't having the same issues and they get less subsidies than SU and the revenues are less as SU had the highest revenue in Louisiana of the SWAC and Southland Universities.

Looking at the numbers you posted, most of those schools had expenses exceeding their revenues.

What do expenses have to do with using PUBLIC FUNDS to fund a school's athletic program??? If their expenses are that high, they need to find ways to cut their athletic budget. My point is, schools are there to educate people, not to fund some athletic programs and the NCAA seems to be more concerned about schools that spend less on athletics than those that rob their academic programs to maintain some athletic program.

By the way, SU subsidies are less than most Southland schools except two, UNO and NIcholls State. UNO doesn't have a football program and Nicholls State has probably the smallest school budget of all schools in Louisiana, which is why they attacked Grambling when the state was about to cut the budget for higher education. Like I previously stated, I hate that the athletic program has to go through this, but as long as SU's academic programs continue to shine while other Louisiana schools are trying to manage through what SU has already experienced. Subsidies for Northwestern State, Southeastern, and McNeese State were higher than SU's subsidies. Also, only two Southland schools (McNeese State and UNO) had a lower percent subsidy than SU. IMO, LSU should have forced ULM, McNeese,State, Nicholls State, and UNO to stay in the LSU System. Now Louisiana has a bunch of small independent schools in the UL System wanting more money.

There was no way that we could have met the benchmark given the torpedo of all of our APR scores across all sports for that 2012-2013 year. Only Women's Tennis, which usually posts a near perfect APR score was able to get their score back on track. All of our female sports always had good APR scores, but that 2012-2013 missile by the NCAA is the reason why most of our sports have a post-season ban.

If you go back and look you would notice that our women's sports always met the mark with APR. They are banned because of that paperwork issue. You'll notice all of our sports took a major hit from that for the 2012-2013 year.

Women's Tennis went from 992 in 2011-2012 to 598 in 2012-2013
Women's Soccer 921 to 671
Women's Track 922 to 485
Women's Volleyball 963 to 511
Women's Cross Country 917 to 500
Women's Basketball 937 to 637
Women's Bowling 942 to 627
Softball 962 to 451

Men's Basketball was dropped to 489
Football was dropped to 482

It was all about folks not doing their jobs and putting the programs in this position, not players not going to class or whatever y'all are trying to say. Pretty much unless you posted near perfect scores like Women's Tennis was able to do to get their score back on track for this year, you pretty much had little chance of us getting all of those sports up to the standard. When we saw what the NCAA chose to report our scores as for that year, most of us knew that it was going to be near impossible for us to avoid this.

I see another one has drunk too much of Jackosn, MS water. Who said anything about lack of funding??? What I have been saying is that the NCAA is barking up the wrong tree when it comes to how institutions are funding their athletic programs, especially those that use a lot of PUBLIC FUNDS. Most SU people on here are saying that there are/were too many incompetent people over SU's athletic programs.
 
Duer Sharp has already made the statement that no football team that isn't post season eligible will be able to participate in the SCG.

This is totally different then baseball and basketball where there is tournament play and no deserving team is actually prevented from participating.
 
Sooooo who will Tony Clayton and the Fools fire this time,, Dr. B just laughing his ass off. He tried to get rid of the MESS( incompetent people) in the athletic department and look what happen to him, I love SU, but don't feel sorry anymore HONESTLY,
