The SWAC is in negotiations to keep the tournament in Houston

I was being funny w/ the 7-game mandate dealio for the new SCAC but still, it would solve a LOT of budgetary problems that I think are going to continue to plague current HBCUs.

As for the name? All of those schools are in the south and in the central portion of the united estats. South Central doesn't give it due diligence?

What is the distance between SU's front door and those D-I FCS Texas schools sans ACU? All La D-I FCS schools? Hmmmmmmmmm......

SU ain't joining no conference with them folks. Why would we. We will generate more revenue in the Swac. The sunbelt approached SU sometime ago, after SU broke the Sunbelt attendance record, at UL.

Well, JSU aint complaining about travel budget. We have it good in that dept. The only ones to complain should be the Tx Schools and the BAMAs... the other 6 are in central locations.

True but I think that's too far north. The New Delmar Field House would be a better location knowing how close it is to the Galleria area. There are plenty of hotels nearby. Access isn't bad with 610, 290 & I10 right there. The cost of using the building would be extremely low as to what it cost for Toyota. The Southland is far out in Katy at the Merrill center and that area is really exploding and they have extended it another 3 years.

You jam right!!!!!! LOL..........Look at the Sunbelt tournament at the UNO Lakefront Arena. Attendance was way worse than ours.

How is the parking there? Are the schools on the same grounds? In other words, would teachers, students, staff take up all the parking?
 
There are no schools there, TP. It's an athletic complex situated near the corners of 610/290-Hwy 6. It's close (enough) to the galleria area of htown. Parking is not an issue for that venue.
 
Put it in Shreveport...,put errrrrrrthang in Port City!!! Jackson and Houston folks would fit right in being ghetto!!!

It would make MORE CENTS and SENSE for it to be there, imho. Delmar is top-notch, imho. No disrespect to the downtown Toyota ctr but the pricing there... parking there... Man... smh How much is the SWAC actually contributing/making from the professional venue? It's neat that our student-athletes get to participate in a professional arena but.... Delmar would be the better venue (imho).

Toyota Center seems like a big waste of money for the conference and the fans unless they are giving us a SUPER deal.. which I doubt! ..and as Cleb said, we need cheaper ticket prices for black folks (I added that part...lol). if you are outpricing the fans to play in Toyota Center, then that is certainly not smart.

Last Tuesday, I'm not sure how much $$$ I spent or even lost but I left w/ a nice crisp 100$ bill and returned to the crib after playing hooky w/ only 7 dollars and some change. The $$$$ were all 1s. smh I know damned well Chachos and that other spot ain't that expensive and I don't recall tricking lmao! WTH did I spend all that $$$$ on? A 100$ trip for a 50 minute drive? lol Something is wrong. :D

IMHO, Toyota ctr is azz-raping us [exploiting the black $$$]. Like Fi said, there is NOTHING wrong w/ Delmar, since the SWAC powers that be want it in Houston. Big azzed parking lot, accessible, can tailgate near the fence if you desire, shopping/eateries w/in driving distance, blah blah blah.
