I often don't agree with some of things Whitlock writes or says, but he's far from Stacey Dash.

Exactly, don't go off the runway with what I'm saying. I'm simply saying if you get sources for a story, majority of the time their word is good to go.

If she has that much of a problem with another writer calling out national media hypocrisy, she needs to realize her role in that hypocrisy when she says things like that.

Some of his perspectives on black athletes over the years have been misguided on occasion. I have also seen him write pieces in defense of black athletes, too. All it takes is one opinion piece that doesn't share the same views as others and the next thing you know you're a sellout or that other four letter word that I hate. That's how society is today.

In all likelihood, it wasn't a situation where the newsroom strategy was to cover for Peyton and keep the heat off of him, but I guarantee you that no national org will make an attempt at chasing down the angle of the victim being asked to blame a black guy. Other news outlets, ie Yahoo Sports, Bleacher Report, SI, etc run a lot of stories that leave you wondering why didn't ESPN run this? This story started during Super Bowl week and ESPN kept it down. Yahoo and everyone else started running it after due investigation and now ESPN has no choice but to comment on it. ESPN powers has their picks as to whom they want promoted and who they don't. Grantland was a hit for ESPN but Bill Simmons was far too hard on Goodell and was shown the door. Remember, Disney owns this company, so there is a clean image of certain players that they want to keep.

Also UT hold Manning to such a damn high and mighty level one would forget that it was Tee Martin that got UT over the hump the year after Manning and won the national championship. Hell it's almost like they don't wanna claim that one because it wasn't their beloved Manning.

Yep and the funny thing is Tee Martin has been working at University of Southern Cal for over a decade and is one of the top recruiters in the Nation. You'd think UT would have him there.

Kendrick I love your info, but you know like I know, if somebody wanted to RUN a story, they would RUN a story. And if there are certain people they want with a clean image they keep it that way. National sports media is 10% journalism and 90% infotainment.

They bury who they want, when they want and how they want. The roundtable TV shows, countless talk shows...when they decide what they're going to spend the good chunk of their rundowns on, they do it.

Peyton, Archie and the University of Tennessee should be buried over this. And I'm not talking temporarily either. They need to be buried Paterno-style. Blackballed from sports society until they all meet their deaths.

NOBODY with a national voice has anything to say about THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE advising a black student be used as bait to take the heat on Peyton's sexual assault. This is right out of the KKK 1920s playbook. Black man vs. White woman.

All it takes is Jemele Hill or Steven A mentioning it. But they dont. Why? Because white people have no interest in admitting their bigotry. And at the end of the day, every black commentator that silences their conscious for a sustained paycheck is nothing more than a tool for white supremacy. Period.

Yet how many black athletes are dying to get to UT? Remember the basketball player who killed the other player at Baylor (I apologize for not remembering names) and the coach tried to cover it up? Just because they have yet to opine on the specific angle you're referring to (even though I think Smith did on his radio show today) doesn't mean they're a tool for white supremacy. Especially when their work and words reflect the opposite.
