O’Neill Sanford becomes JSU’s new Director of Bands!

Sanford isn't the first non-alumnus to lead the Boom, remember Edward Duplessis and Renaldo Murray?

Little is still the director of the BOOM.
I am very disappointed that Sanford is the Director of Bands but let's hope for the best.

As for Murray and Duplessis... They were interim and would never have been given the full time job. The Director the BOOM has always been a Jacksonian.

None of the original FIRSTswac band directors were alumni...someone had to make the band programs. They studied somewhere else and came to swac & meac, & adopted they style. The closet swac band directors that actually created most things once there as far as signature styles was Greggs of SU, Haughton of JSU, Butler of Txsu, & Hutchinson of GSU. This is Swac. This where it all started from....if you really go deep in history. Outside swac I'd say FAmu....Dr. Foster & Tnsu Mr. Greer. All of them got some variables from the big 10 schools!!!! William W. Davis of JSU brought that big band sound....wayyy before SU or anyone..in the Swac!

Does anybody know any news about the staff for the upcoming season? (New Arrangers)
I'm glad you put that in parentheses because that is definently a need. Our arrangements on top of bad song selections 2015 just really put a ceiling on that season. We need a more aggressive arranger. Just my opinion.
