At least Jackson State got this hire right


Technically none of those guys applied. I don't believe the job was ever opened. We targeted the guys we wanted, a few others(Odums) contacted us directly or through their agents. I believe we contacted Broadway but it may have been the other way around.

How did LSU come up out of this? Now they may be pissed off we got a better BASKETBALL coach than they do. But they can care less what we do in football. We could go 12-0 every year and it would not matter to them. They are FBS and we are FCS. That's all that counts to them.

And? You think they care about that? They know yall paying all that money for coaches over there. SU ain't going to do it. Worm already knows whether he applies to JSU or any school. He has 2 years left on his current contract. He has Austin Howard and a host of players for 2 years. He better win. That's what he knows. There will be no excuses he can give. So even if he didn't apply. The same scenario is in place. You better win with these 2 years left or NO CONTRACT at all from SU. Has nothing to do with where or who he applied too. I am sure our administration feels JSU is overpaying for coaches. And if Worm got somebody to pay him that kind of loot. We would be like we are happy for you. But we aint matching it. See ya later. But we aint going to fire him over applying. He knows what we will fire him for. LOL. Hence him cleaning house on the defensive side of the ball with his staff and firing himself as de facto DC.

Yadadada..... Most schools are over spending in all aspects of athletics soooo yea yea yea !!!! On top of if y'all had the money or a coach y'all wanted to invest in y'all would do the same soooo again Yadadada!!!

FBS schools can afford to overspend like Bama on a S&C Coach. LOL. FCS schools can't.

Why would you? Does ND State who has more money than all of us spend close to 300K on their coach? We saw what McNeese paid Viator. 130K. So I guess those schools don't invest in their program. Well we know ND State does. McNeese has some challenges. But the bottom line is handing out all that money is not worth the SWAC wins. Alcorn is winning without spending all that kind of loot.

NDSU paid their coach $366K last year after bonuses. About 300K base

They can afford it too. They are FBS masquerading as a FCS school. I know before Craig Boll their previous coach left for Wyoming. He just got a raise and for the longest, our HBCUs were paying more than he was making and more than Jerry Moore was making right before he retired at App State. He had just cracked the over 200K mark. I think they paid him 235K his last couple of years.
 



Unlike SU, JSU and Alabama State are paying there coaches more because they are the only two who are looking for greener grass. So yes I hope and pray you jags Dnt spend all your little money because you all will always be in the swac. Smell our dust In a few years !!!

No not all FBS can afford to throw away money. The smaller FBS are ending there fiscal year in the negatives just as some FCS!!! So next time you say FBS please be specific to which conferences because again not all!!!

And those FBS schools should not be FBS schools. Maybe they should move down if they can't afford to be a viable FBS school. You can't fix folks being dumb. Some had NO BUSINESS trying to move up and are paying the price. While some FCS schools have the money and can succeed at the lower tier FBS level. Schools like ND State and Montana if they choose too. Schools like ULM had no business moving up. Now they can barely pay a coach a decent FBS level salary.

That's YOUR PROBLEM. SU don't have one. If your JSU powers that be and YOUR MONEY alums want JSU to move up and on. Formulate the plan and do it. Nobody will stop you. This is a message board. None of us reflect what SU administration thinks. Hell they change all the time. All we do know. They aint going to spend any BIG LOOT on a coach to win 9 SWAC games and struggle OOC and play for a possible SCG and Celebration Bowl. If JSU wants to do that and your administration and alums are on board with FINANCIALLY supporting a move. Then go for it. Nobody is influencing anyone in this conference. None of these Presidents give a fugg what the other one is doing. LOL.

You read too much in what is posted on this board. None of us can dictate what any of our schools will or will not do in the future. Ain't no T Boone Pickens type alums on here. LOL.

My thing is if we didnt pay Coach Cador (his won numerous of championships) what make other schools think we gone bust the bank on a football coach? Smh. Roman Banks winning too!! At SU we will not bust the bank on a coach period.
