Dawson Odums fires 3 defensive assistants, Chad Germany resigns

I think it was time, no way with the talent we have on this squad, we should be home in Dec (I'ma scream this shat)

I think that PV game did it to a lot of folks, not the lost from them, but how we lost that game, and Alcorn didn't help him out, but it was time. We regressed this year in our defense, from our ship runs. We use to get off the field at times, but 3rd downs was a sad ass down for us this year.

I think spring ball will be a big key, not saying it affected our run this year, but we need to have spring ball.

Come on Defense Co

Jones went to the SCG over 5 times. I was no Jones fan but he had at least five to six winning seasons. He always finished 8-3 at least. Spady has won only 5 games in two seasons. Lol

Next year's results will decide Spady fate!

He better make good hires and show results or he will be out the door. . This can be a good thing for him or bad thing

Jones had the benefit of Cooper's recruits that included a number of highly recruited major college transfers. Jones had that favorable circumstance for at least three years. Jones won nothing with players he recruited in his later years. He left Spady with virtually nothing, making it necessary to build a team from the ground up.

A little thing that was not publicized was the experienced defensive and offensive players that were pulled for eligibility concerns, players that were to be counted on to play. We played freshmen and red shirt freshmen on both lines.
Spady has the best game plan in the SWAC. He probably needs to rework some of his coaches, but we will be fine in the near future.

We also need to improve some of the facilities that recruits see during visiting weekends.

Man Spady is worst then Ray Bonner. Y'all keep riding that Spady train. Lol

Jones won the East in 2006, 2009, and 2011 with his own players.
I said later years. The barrel was empty when he left.
We won the East in 2011 basically by default. The only decent team we beat was Bama State. We lost to Gram, JSU and Southern.
2009 was basically his players. The well started going empty after then.
2006 were players Jones got off the momentum and publicity coming off the Cooper years.

You started on Spady when the first qb threw the first interception in the game in Orlando.

No one is sticking up for Spady. I would be one calling for a change if I thought he was the problem. I supported Jones until it became clear that the program was stagnant under him and that he would refuse to change any thing to remedy the problem. Spady has to deal with what he found when he got there. Give the man time to implement his plan with players he recruited and fit his offensive system. You gain nothing by changing coaches and starting from scratch every two years.

So you agree they were his players in all those years.

Did he fire himself also?

Yep. His DC wasn't doing a good job on 3rd downs.

So Odums is fired?
You asked did he fire himself also. Were you talking about Odums? Odums is searching for a full-time DC (as said in the paper). Therefore, he wasn't able to juggle being the HC and DC at the same time.

Thus, he "fired" the previous DC (himself) to search for a new DC. Odums is still the HC.
