Dawson Odums fires 3 defensive assistants, Chad Germany resigns

You asked did he fire himself also. Were you talking about Odums? Odums is searching for a full-time DC (as said in the paper). Therefore, he wasn't able to juggle being the HC and DC at the same time.

Thus, he "fired" the previous DC (himself) to search for a new DC. Odums is still the HC.
Ok. Gotcha.

I am just wondering if Jones (former AAMU head coach) or Ron Cooper (probably couldn't afford him) would be a good DC. AAMU had some good defensive squads a few years back.

Jones is an offensive coach (on paper, at least)

I don't think Ron Cooper is willing to return to an HBCU.

Because AAMU's offense was very conservative under Coach Jones, it made the Defense looked somewhat decent. A lot of it was Defensive Coordinator Brawnski Towns doing, but whenever they faced a team with a hell of an offense, AAMU Defense had serious trouble. The year when we got beat by Gram 45-6 or something like that in the SCG is a good example of what I am referring to.

Cooper had that D2 defense ran by Townes.... That's why they couldn't beat JSU. That defense could not beat good passing teams.

I don't believe it, for once I agree with Tigerpride except, when Cooper came on board, he demoted him to Defensive Back Coach. When Cooper left, Towns assumed the Def. Coordinator position again.

Yeah, just thinking out loud......Don't look like those two are the answer.
