What makes OMJ a joke of a coach? You all keep saying that but don't give a tangible reason. ..and yes, Comegy is a proven winner but a lot of us wanted him fired. I recall leaving the SCG in 2008 and most of the crowd was hoping that A&T would hire Comegy....lol

Now it's time for coach Chang and lee to show everyone why coach Jackson was a great choice. Great coaches usually surround themselves around great coordinators.we had one bad apple ( coach Burroughs ) and he's gone. Jsu will many what was possible last year if they had a 4-3 defense. Hell Ivy already passed for 3000 yards so the offense can only get better on top of a 4-3 in which the defensive players were familiar with will be lights out on all teams this year.

We beat Grambling for the SCG title and the year before they forfeited the game you know..57-17 you know. I wanted him gone too but he had his moments...

They who signed the petition still didn't have enough folks its about the same amount folks that signed that form same amount that wanted comegy to stay, which they are still way outnumbered!

Face the Facts H Jackson gets a 1st year pass just like all the other coaches that didn't win on their first ( Furst) year how ever the hell you want to say it LOL.

We will have a Running Game this year, you can t win games without one and that's all JSU lacked but pass the ball almost twice successfully than most of your teams running!

Its a difference this year, you wont be making all them long as QB draws against this years defense, You wont be running the ball 3 yards here then minus -5 yards then JSU give up a big 12 yards and you get a first down! Again we were pretty good outside of the Red Zone. Thats where we had the most trouble because of folks unsure about their assignments and dont forget Turnover and Penalties killed a few of JSU scoring drives at least 2 -3 a game!

There is no doubt as to Ivy's favorite target as Williams ranked first in the SWAC with 73 receptions, third in receiving yardage with 1,004 and second in touchdowns catches with nine.
Defenses can't focus entirely on Williams as the Tigers return their top four receivers. Jairus Moll (34-485-6), Devin Fosselman (32-292-1) and DeSean McKenzie (22-356-3) are all back for their senior seasons.

Second-year head coach Harold Jackson is looking for an upgrade in the running game after the Tigers ranked last in the SWAC and 111th out of 121 FCS teams with a meager 102.2 ypg.
Jarius Moore (77 carries, 380 yards, 3 TDs) and Robert Johnson IV (64-304-1) provided the bulk of the production in the backfield.
 
New defensive coordinator Alonzo Lee inherits seven returning starters from a unit which ranked in the top half of the conference in most categories last year, including fourth in scoring (27.6 ppg), third in total defense (366.8 ypg) and second in pass defense (195.2 ypg). Lee re-positioned a couple of key players from linebacker to defensive end while scrapping the 3-4 in favor of the 4-3 over the spring.
Last year's leading tackler, Javancy Jones (108 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 3 sacks) has moved up front.

Teddrick Terrell (27 tackles, 3 TFL) has returned to the edge after spending an injury-plagued 2014 season at linebacker. A second-team All-SWAC defensive end in 2013, Terrell logged 46 tackles, 13.5 TFL and three sacks.

Jones and Terrell will flank junior Cornelius Henderson (50 tackles, 9.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles) on the D-line.

Other players to watch are junior linebacker Stacy Noble (65 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks) and senior left cornerback Robert Porter (61 tackles, 1 interception, 9 pass breakups).

Page 2 of 2 - As for the kicking game, senior Ryan Deising converted 18-of-23 field goal tries, including a school record-tying 50-yarder.
 
Them 4 Players alone Top all SWAC TFL at the DL period....................Henderson, Noble, Terrell and Jones ( that's domination and I cant wait to see this set up)

When Comegy was JSU's coach, you Valley folks hated him.
That joke of a coach won three times as many games as Comegy, so what does that make Comegy?
Just face it dude, no coach....and I MEAN NOOOO coach will ever bring a SWAC title to Valley for at least another decade.

You damn right. I ask the same question to people When they say Coach Jackson this And that. What did he do that's so bad for a first year coach ?!?!? I've never gotten a direct answer especially one That would have been related to football issues, its the usual around the bush answers that if you read between the lines Of there answer it's just they don't like him. Hell he went 5-7 , and I could see if he went 1-10 but 5-7 for a first year coach etc. honestly it was even Ivys first year. What team in the swac ever hired a new coach and also new QB and came in and went above 5-6. I'm saying 5-6 even though JSU went 5-7 because it was a 12 game year which is rare so again 5-6. Do your research ?!? By the end of the your research I'm sure you'll be pushing for a raise for Coach J once you get through seeing all those 3-8, 4-7, 5-6 etc !!!!! THIS THREAD NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK UP NEXT SUNDAY AFTER JSU WAX MTSU for all the HJ haters. After next weekend then I'll post a thread what coach in the SWac ever beat a FBS ??!!!

JSU second year head coach Harold Jackson just might have answered why JSU chose to do away with former coach Rick comegy, a question many fans have asked. After a stellar upset last night in Murfreesboro Tenn Those questions were laid to rest with a 32-21 victory over CUSA MTSU.

Man, Valley and Football championship don't even go together. Hell, we ALL would have been moved up to FBS before Valley win a football championship in the SWAC. Maybe that is what Valley can help us do. Help us all move up and then they'll be the only ones in the SWAC so they could win a football championship.

Atleast stump beat valley for our homecoming his first season. Plus his record against valley over .500. His first year we went 2-9. But its ironic when we lost to valley in 2012 we beat a team named j state the next week and put up 28 points.
