None. This can be summed up with how they trash Comegy any chance they. 8-4 his last year with them and was literally within one foot of winning the SWAC title so anyone with sense would not have put that loss on him. But they constantly on here saying he can't coach while propping up Bobby Rush (a career 12-25 record as a HC) while saying that the rest of the SWAC is bad. I think Big Worm is #2 on their Hit List but he called off the dogs last year on this same "better coached more disciplined" team.

Anytime a team beats them its considered luck....how about a better coached team or the other team's players executed. I'm come the fuck on....If your team is that good it would show in the number of of championships.

You'd think as much as they "don't care" about JSU it wouldn't lol. Folks act like everybody should have an opinion but folks from JSU. Even folks who still finished after our "D2 team with a horrible coach." Oh well

You know why we put that loss on Comegy? Because the game should have been won before OT. We were in the lead in the 4th quarter. We had a 3rd and 2 around the 30 and rather than run over SUs sorry run defense, we passed the ball and didn't convert. Right now I don't recall what happened on 4th down but we didn't score. Comegy never showed us that he could coach. Comegy showed us that he could recruit and that made him valuable to us. I can guarantee you that if we gave the Cole Brothers, Rod Broadway, Jerry Mack, Buddy Pugh, etc the talent Comegy had, they would have won 3-4 SWAC titles. Also, in Bham when we lost to UAPB in OT, why? We had them beat. Comegy is supposed to be a defensive coach but he put us in man coverage and allowed UAPB to get a 95 yard TD. Who does that? All we needed was a zone to protect the first down and the game would have been over. Comegy should have won the SWAC in 2012 and 2013 and we should have won the HBCU national championship in 2011. But Comegy forgot to call a TO to kick a field goal. We still have that time out... LOL

You can listen to Comegy and know he has NO clue what is going on or what happened. You will soon see that for yourself. You can ask him about a play and he will start talking about horses, goats or something totally irrelevant to the question because he won't know that play in question.

Also, you all listen to what YOU want to listen to. We knew our team was bad when we played SU. I even picked SU to win. I knew SU would run back some kicks because EVERY OTHER team was running back some kicks. It was not until the staff took over the special teams and defensive coordinator duties from Burroughs that we started looking like a real team but then, we were left with only three o-linemen. We moved some DLs over there and once they gelled and we got our special teams and defense working, we got two wins. What people don't realize is that by the time we played Alcorn, we had ALL three phases working. It was just too little too late. Our special teams even outplayed Alcorn but most people are not even mentioning that. Our defense stopped Alcorn but people want to call it a fluke! Granted, Alcorn didn't really prepare for a 4-3 defense but what they saw was us putting our players back in their best positions. You will see more of that this year.

Well, that's what happens at JSU when you have overwhelming talent and still can't beat sorrier teams in the championship game.

That's not a fair assessment. He had time to coach the team most of the season, interim or not. That's like saying the 1999 season didn't count for Hughes.

I don't think ANYONE really wants OMJ as the HC but the vast majority of our fans have no clue what is going on with the players or the staff. Most fans think we have no hope as long as OMJ is the HC and that's because they heard someone else say it. But it's cool. Winning cures all and if he could whoop Hopson, he can whoop the rest of the conference.

Comegys dismiss and dis pleasure was About more than just a winning record. It became more about Conegy couldn't get over the hump. Some might ask well what was the hump? ( Grambling, TnSU and any other good competitive team ). He could only beat schools that where mediocre at best . Just like now I'm excited to go up to Murfreesboro next weekend. I feel like we actually have coaches that will make adjustments versus Comegy in his bs staff. We got tired of his just enough but not to much. On FCS Level his salary and coaches salary pool said we need to do much more with the program. $200,000 to beat the usual 7 schools but still no W's over grambling unless they forfeited nor TnSU and a lost to delta state. I'm glad they got rid of his azz. HJ came closer to beating grambling his first year with a bad team versus Comegy since he's been there. Now it's time for coach Chang and lee to show everyone why coach Jackson was a great choice. Great coaches usually surround themselves around great coordinators.we had one bad apple ( coach Burroughs ) and he's gone. Jsu will many what was possible last year if they had a 4-3 defense. Hell Ivy already passed for 3000 yards so the offense can only get better on top of a 4-3 in which the defensive players were familiar with will be lights out on all teams this year.

I agree because I'm very knowledgable about not only JSU football but football period and I see some foundation work that's better now then when Comegy was there. Comegy did fine for building teams but coach Jackson has made some adjustments and decisions that will help us to build a PROGRAM. It took Comegy years to fire Woody, Burroughs 10 months. Nothing personal just business. Coach J knew that 3-4 wasn't working but he couldn't just fire him n middle of season because the players were mentally trying to run a 3-4 and it's difficult to change not a few plays but an entire philosophy in mid season, so coach j did wat was best. You can tell there were talks among coaches on the 3-4 not working and Burroughs knew his job was on line that's why he wanted to run it more at the alcorn game. But I dnt see how many JSU fans are so hard on coach Jackson in his first year. I could see his second year like this year hell even I will be mad but first year really !?!?. What JSU fans dnt know is that will drive away any great coach because coaches know no matter what star players or even how well the team did prior to his era doesn't mean jack during that first year. Glad I was apart of an organization that got a new head coach and things looked like it wasn't good thy first year but even that year on the inside looking at the real situation it actually was some the best foundational work that organization has had and it showed that second year. Because believe it or not coaches talk and when ever again we need a HC we dnt need that talk going around saying well I wouldn't go there. There fans are slightly ignorant to building football programs, they are use to instant fixes with juco players and if try to build a 4 year program and dnt succeed your FIRST YEAR, you can hang it up! That's not a Good look.. This guy is much more passionate about JSU football than any I've seen in years. In past years I've seen some of JSU asst coaches mention about what they dnt have but I believe our asst coaches are scared to even think those things due to coach HJ passion for his school and players and even so on I think these coaches are excited to try to really teach these guys how to play there positions. God coaches dnt nessacerily need 5 star players all the time. Good coaches like to actually coach up players to become better players. Honestly we as a human race are very ignorant during our first thoughts. For example many say that some of the best coaches are FBS but I dis agree. I say some of the best coaches are coaches who take average or below average and do a 180. If your a FBS coach and you have 50 percent blue chip players what the hell you expect but let one of those same coaches come to low resource school with average or below players. Even with practice during both spring and fall I've seen more teaching and fundamentals being taught than Comegys era. I've even seen coach J this fall go up against one of the olineman, trying to show correct position. PS. That was also very funny ). Where was Comegy during some of his practices ?? ( in his office ).So hey give coach J and his staff a fair chance think about if you were in a leadership position and you know you were capable but first you have to do some ground work you wouldn't want your organization not supporting you atleast till proven guilty.

If I was you and Down with the Devils gun, I would save my time and effort to focus on All the excuses Comegy gone make this year. I'm sure he'll use the " we are young" and ' we have new coordinators " excuse. Lol It amazes me how so many find interest in JSU but not there own school. Smh. But hey we love the attention. Other schools giving talk about JSU has helped our enrollment to damn near 11,000 While there's continues to decline or stay the same at best. Hell we have students sleeping in cars just to be affiliated with Jackson state. So keep talking.

Watch the main j state supporters who doing all the talking on here when they start losing watch them say things like " I know that defensive coach wasnt a good fit for us" , " man chang cant coach offense" or better yet " man!! We shoudnt have fired comegy" WATCH!!

But Hughes was already in place at the beginning of the season as Head Coach in 99. They knew Big Daddy wasn't coming back in the Spring of 99 really. Folks just didn't want to admit how sick he was. I think even Big Daddy was in denial. But Hughes went through that entire off season as the man leading up to the 99 season. So it was not like Worm taking over from Stump his interim year after game 2 or 3. LOL. His first full year as the man and implementing his way on the off season was in 2013 which he won. Hughes also was in the JSU system for YEARS. So he knew the players even better than Worm who replaced Stump's first DC we had.

Dude I could care less about JSU. I am simply pointing out the fact that you and others continually try to run down and down talk a coach (Comegy) who is a proven winner, only to replace him with a joke of a "coach" (Jackson).
