@Bighead See what I mean?

Dang TP, don't be daft your entire life. smh

Lol but he gets mad when I said his school JSU did some fuk boy shit...I just said what they did or allegedly they did..

Boy I tell you...

It's all good @the nasty dude...I aint the enemy folk

All jokes aside. I am a man who will admit he is wrong. The 1 million dollar statement I said earlier. Please disregard... I didn't make it up rather got confused about who was receiving that money when that info came to my attention from another blog. I apologize southern fans. However, it's come to my attention these are FACTS yal are sponsored by McDonalds , Yamaha, and Cotgo .... It has been informed that southern has received a gross income of a little of 350 k in donations with a 100 k donation coming last month. ... These are ALL facts I know... This concerns me ... Not from a fan trying to kick a school while it's down but from a kid who loves music... No matter how much we hate on each other and take jabs at each other we're talking about southern and jsu two of the most dominant programs in the swac ... Numbers at band camps, shout outs from social media prove that, and the awe factor every year before the classic proves that. My attacks are that if you got 100 k just last month taken from your very own su fan I'll post the pic for added proof who knows then why is their a scramble for scholarship money and new instruments when yal have the sponsorships and the needed support financially for the vision haymer and staff has? Where are the receipts of how 100 k got blown in a month... Something just doesn't add up... And like I said at the top my information is false and proves to show up that southern is really just struggling I will create a thread publicly apologizing to southern and dr. Haymer, however the more the days go by for this BOTB since it was promoted the more controversy surrounds it and the more comes out from both sides. To end this I come from a place of I want the truth not to slander southern , but if your kids were being cheated or hustled it needs to be fixed for the sake of the children's experience, hbcu experiences and keep face from the already stereotypical stereotypes state fundors and the government put on us...., I'm open to believe BOTH sides have done some dirt business wise and I think that's fair as more information has developed on both sides about why Jackson is not in this BOTB when said contract was negotiated and signed. I hope southern gets back on its feet soon and I definitely hope all jokes aside the band isn't a sinking ship because of poor financial management and gambles that shouldn't have been taken for the sake of a vision that can be achieved over time and not a year. Again, my respects and maybe down the line when I can I'll donate to keep this program a float going forward.

Man GTHFOH with that B.S...you know dayum well 4,900 was not an amount to be given to SU for the BOTB..miss me wit that SU did dirt along with us..(you sound like white media in defending cops folk)..How in the hell they, SU did any kind of dirt folk? all they did was show up
FOH with that crap..I hope the whole world see that shady shit yall pulled on SU

Once again, you don't know the workings of the budget SU band to even suggest that. You really think with Jindal as our Governor and all of these budget cuts to state universities happening each year in Louisiana, that any mismanagement of funds, especially with one of our most visible organizations on campus, would go unnoticed? The new instruments are estimated to cost somewhere around $83,000, new uniforms can run you anywhere from $300-$500 each, you have staff salaries that you have to pay for, instrument repair and cleaning, scholarships(which is something that you never stop raising money for), and you also have to plan for busing, lodging, and meals for your marching and concert programs. Trust me, there is no sinking ship and there is also no financial mismanagement. The fundraising drive is simply to push the band to the next level by ensuring we can continue recruiting the top musicians and giving them the best collegiate experience possible.

If we are offering more scholarships, how far do you think 100K goes? In a band with close to 200 members, if you give just 100 (half) of them partial scholarships, that's just $500.00 each per semester.
Exactly, and it's only so many times you will be able to rely on the Human Jukebox legacy to recruit the top musicians if we can't offer a full scholarship. Haymer is being proactive and folks are trying to make it into something else.

Okay , so question if all this known about your government and state ... I understand the places southern want to go , but if a transitioning band director knows this, why did he increase numbers to a budget that couldn't accommodate the needs unless he was gambling and failed for the sake of the kids.? I'm sure haymer meant well but with all you stated he should know better and know that these things take bands yrs to do not just a year... It's safe to say he bit off more than he can chew and now this has come back to bite him in a rushed fundraising effort not some usual fundraiser... Come on the language of the fundraisers speaks for itself.

He's not doing anything that PWC Bands (or schools in general) don't do. Only black folks try and clown other black folks for raising money.

Haymer just became head BD last year. The numbers increased all the way back in 06 well before any of this stuff started.

True but number1 stated above $83,000 is the expected tag on the instruments yal got 100 k last month enough to pay, but yal still are talking about old instruments? And please answer my thread before this if you can cause this is on yal for moving too fast and the budget is not their for all that to happen so fast. That's a rookie mistake in business on haymer part folk.

Failed? Rushed? Do you understand that there is a Human Jukebox fundraising effort annually? Find me a non-profit that doesn't express need whenever they get a chance to fundraise and I will find you a non-profit that is not very good at raising funds.

The instruments haven't been purchased dude. That is one of the goals of the fundraiser to get the funds so that they can be purchased and available for use without disrupting the normal flow of things financially.

The 100K was for scholarships. Do you not understand?!?!?!

Sir that's not a valid excuse because if a budget can't keep up with an increase i'm sorry we need to see a 130-150 juke band out there rather than a nearly 200. He toke over and toke a gamble and played with a budget that can't support those numbers.

Or is he trying to get more money so that we can begin offering better scholarship packages to our students? Trust me we know what we're doing over here. You're on the outside looking in with foggy glasses. Using your logic, no one should ever try to raise fund for their organization.

Donations sir which means it can be used for anything ... You got academic scholarships and grants available to me I would've used that for the instruments and spent this year addressing the scholarship issue rather than being empty on both sides... Presentation is better than the background issues of scholarships which can be aided in other ways than just donations.

We haven't spent money on the instruments yet. Why can't you raise money for both at the same time? Some may be more willing to give for new instruments than scholarships, and some may be more willing to give for scholarships than new instruments.

The logic of knowing what I have financially and knowing what I can support now ? Yeah that's smart sir ... Not saying funds shouldn't be raised ... Dream big folk , but manage and know it comes with time not a year Fam.

If donations are EARMARKED they have to be used for that purpose only.

They've have a lot of good instruments, including some that are less than 3 years old. The scholarships are more pressing now. I don't get your reasoning at all. Makes absolutely no sense. Take care of the kids' finances first if you can.

Haymer says something else though., if you have new instruments less than three years old then why was it brought by the man himself that that's not the case... My reasoning is you attack scholarship money over time with donations through small increases through gradually increasing size ... Supply and demand that's the first thing in business if you need a major demand for something than that means you need to decrease that supply until you can grow to meet your high demands. I get it man I do but business wise haymer made a rookie mistake... Deal with it.

Because not ALL the instruments are less than 3 years old. You are clueless dude.

And what does any of this have to do with SU vs TC or JSU??? Worry about getting served AGAIN. Yall are worried about the wrong thing and don't have a single clue about what's going on. It's hila how clueless yall actually are.

Lmbo @ the bull they wana start posting now. This is hilarious. This Bighead dude was jus on some "SU ain't worried about yall" stuff, now he wants answers to so called facts he got from someone else off the5thquarter. All of our facts came directly from the band staff, not someone who we thought was close to the band. How bout you do the same and stop goin off of what others say lol. Just take yalls whoopin from TC and just hope yall have enough a** left for the Boom, being that yall don't have much else to offer lol.

So we got served because we refused to get ghetto? LOL
JSU brought nothing but heat to SU...in the game and at the stadium. SU ain't got nothing to serve and if they did offer it, we don't want it... im sure it smells.
