All-Time NBA Legend Teams

Bulls would not get blown out by the Lakers in this matchup. Magic would be a problem for Rose but at the same time 2011 Rose with his quickness would be a problem for Magic. Jordan would lock up Kobe. Pippen would lock up Baylor also. Now as far the bigs go, the Lakers have the advantage. Gilmore should be the C for the Bulls and Wilt for the Lakers. Advantage at the C goes to the Lakers. At PF, Rodman can give Worthy a problem. Worthy only averaged about 5 rebs but was a good scorer. Rodman was a beast on the boards. That matchup can go either way

And the Bulls would still get dragged by the Lakers. LOL!
Your opinion. Don't know if they would get dragged. Folks get caught up by names. Some of those guys never would have played together so the chemistry would be a factor, which would give MJ and Scottie somewhat of an advantage since they would have played together. On paper no doubt the Lakers can assemble the better talent. But just saying they would get dragged by 50 is a reach in my opinion and I saw some of them OLD guys play in their prime and not just highlights. Your Bulls would not just get destroyed. Just don't buy that 50 crap. If you lined up a in their prime Mike, Pippen, Gilmore, Bob Love and healthy D Rose. it would not be that easy to blow them out. Not saying they would win. But I would bet they would not get beat by 50 by Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Baylor and Shaq. You have two defensive liabilities on that Laker line up. Magic and Baylor ain't playing no defense. Kobe would be the best defensive player on the floor for that Laker line up.

Playing along side a mature adult like Robinson had a major impact on Duncan's career. Duncan learned how to be a professional. KG damn near had free reins from day 1.

No way. Scottie Pippen would have guarded Magic Johnson. That would have been a good azz match up.
Scottie on Magic? Do you know what Elgin Baylor would do to Rose? LOL

LOL at Kobe just hanging with Jordan... And Bob Cousy on hand dribbling arse...LOL Yall funny... Worthy was a great player but better than Kobe...LOL Grown men roamed back in the day but pure physical specimens play now. Big men who can shoot threes and handle the ball....

Actually there were more PHYSICAL specimens back in the day. Muscle bound cats that played PF. Biggest difference is the shooting range and handles of bigs today. Outside of Lebron and a few other guys who really are gym rats weight room wise. You see very few brute force type guys.

And even though I am not a Rose fan. Baylor would not be good on the defensive end. Magic would cause a problem offensively for anyone on him. So I don't know if I would put Scottie on him all the time. But some of the time. The Lakers height advantage would be a problem.

Strong and not to agile. The kids now are bigger and stronger and more agile....You had otis thorp strong dudes who could only post up and dunk....

Name names... there were a few, but when you compare measurables...

Like I said, the Bulls would get dragged.

Mychal Thompson, Spencer Haywood, Rick Mahorn, Shawn Kemp was muscular in his heyday, Otis Thorpe, Charles Oakley, the Davis Boys, Karl Malone, and the list goes on. Buck Williams, Lonnie Shelton..etc. Power Forwards lived up to their name. Even cats like Antonio McDyess was cut.

Can't believe you even arguing this one. They have mentioned this many times on NBA TV. LOL. Power Forwards now are stretch 4s and not as physical. Look at Durant and I am a big Durant fan. Dude too damn skinny. But the game has changed. You don't have to have a Marques Johnson like physique to play in the position.

You think these kids are bigger? Really? These skinny kids now are bigger? Taller I can see maybe at the PF spot. But not bigger guys. Lebron and a few are the only man children out there. Now if you are saying the skill levels have improved for big men. I agree. Most of them old head big dudes could not shoot like these guys. But no way these guys are bigger. Look at all the small ball being played. No need for Centers hardly. No big body Wes Unselds no more.

Dirk Nowitzki ruined the PF position.

Durant actually played shooting guard earlier in his career.

But he's now listed as a SF.

Anthony Davis is trying to develop a 3-point shot. If he does that, there would be no way to guard him.

He actually was a guard in high school until he grew six inches.

Playing mostly on the perimeter and absolutely no defense. It's nothing power about Dirk's game. He was the first to really break the mode of the traditional power forward.

No he wasn't. LOL!

There were plenty of PFs who played a similar style before Dirk.

Mychal Thompson was a stick.
Spencer Haywood was a 6'8 225 PF
Otis Thorpe was slim
Antonio Davis was about T-Mac's size

The Romanticism with the 80's and 90's teams kills me. And I grew up in that era too.. It's like saying the Football players of today not bigger than the players before them. The reason these kids are getting hurt more is because everyone is bigger, faster and stronger than ever. With year round training, supplements etc the kids today are freakish compared to our father's teams and our teams. Yes players played through more injuries and concussions but does not mean these kids are not studs...Back in the day players actually took off, hung out and got wasted and still played ...Do that now and it will show on game day...

Football players are bigger. Bigger OL and Bigger LBs and DL.

These kids get hurt more because they are not physically built like they should be. Maybe some of the supplements they take are not good for them. And they play a less physical game. Don't know how you can't see these kids are not bigger. Some do the work in the weight room. A lot of them are just getting by on pure athleticism. I just don't see the bigger guys you refer too.

My argument isn't they are not better perimeter players with better ball skills. I agree 100% with that. That is the biggest change. The bigs have better ball skills and better shooting range. But their bodies are not bigger.

Their bodies are not SMALLER either.

I don't know if he ruined it. But the PF position started evolving in the mid to late 90s. There were a couple of those guys who had some range at the PF spot back in the day before Dirk. The influx of European players however has changed the game somewhat and all these kids grow up wanting to be shooters and not bangers like the old NBA. The game evolved from that style. More International style now.

Hold up,

What are the parameters for you guys selecting these teams?

Are these the best players in franchise history, regardless of era? If not, what are you all basing this on?

Because using some of y'alls logic ... Babe Ruth or Josh Gibson wouldn't be good in todays MLB and Jim Brown wouldn't be good in today's NFL.
