Jackson State, I got a question.


Look, to me, I listen to Player Interviews but I am ALWAYS looking for that Coach that wants to be The Steve Spurrier of the SWAC. Quite Frankly, We Need More Smack Talk from the COACHES. Give the kids some slack on the interviews ok? They are already getting cussed at by coaches and people in stands for fumbling the football, throwing an INT, or doing something stupid. When they win, interview skills go out the window.
 



Heck.......In the SWAC, any kicker that can nail it from 40 yards should be MVP.

How soon yall forget about the days of swac teams driving to the 30 yard line and have to go for it on 4th down because our kickers were crap across the board.

If I was coach, I would set aside 1 full schollie every 3rd year just for recruiting the best FG kicker I could find. I watched Alcorns kicker nail moon shots on my part time job at Madison Ridgeland Academy. Dude could not miss his JR and SR seasons.
 
Coaches send players who they know won't embarrass them. Some players may be talented but can't talk worth a damn. Im going with a player who isn't going to embarrass me or my school.

JSU will be represented by senior defensive lineman Teddrick Terrell and senior kicker Ryan Deising, who will be the lone special teams player of all 20 student-athlete representatives.

“I thought Ryan had one heck of a season last season,” Jackson said. “There’s three phases to the game – offense, defense and special teams – so I thought he was one of the guys we should bring to get more exposure.”

Deising was a second-team All-Conference performer in 2014 and connected on 18 of 23 field goal attempts, which included a 50-yarder. He was perfect on extra-point attempts and finished with 86 points, fourth most in the SWAC.
