If the NFL had any nuts they would immediately banned the New England Patriots from the Super Bowl, postpone it for another week or two, and allow the Colts to play. I'm just saying. Bill Belichick should be suspended a minimum of 5 years or banned for life.

11 of 12 Pats footballs underinflated

The NFL has found that 11 of 12 of the New England Patriots game balls were inflated significantly less than the NFL requires, league sources involved and familiar with the investigation of Sunday's AFC championship game told ESPN.

The investigation found the footballs were underinflated by 2 pounds per square inch of air less than what's required by NFL regulations during the Pats' 45-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, according to sources.

"We are not commenting at this time," said Greg Aiello, the NFL's senior vice president of communications.

Troy Vincent, the league's senior executive vice president of football operations, told The Associated Press late Tuesday in response to this report that the "investigation is currently underway and we're still awaiting findings.'' He told ProFootballTalk.com earlier Tuesday that the NFL expected to wrap up its investigation in "two or three days."

Yet to be determined is what, if any, penalties may be imposed upon Patriots. One source described the league as "disappointed ... angry ... distraught," after spending considerable time on the findings earlier Tuesday.

Part of the investigation that still needs further vetting is how the 11 footballs became underinflated.

The game balls provided to each team for preparation were required to be inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff before they were returned to a ball attendant before the game.

No alteration of footballs is allowed once they are approved, under league rules and regulations.

The balls are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

"We have been in complete cooperation with the league and will continue to do so," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said.

The NFL began looking into the issue not only because doctoring the footballs could provide a competitive advantage, but because it would compromise the integrity of the game.

Deflating a football can change the way it's gripped by a player or the way it travels through the air. Under NFL rules, each team provides balls each game for use when its offense is on the field. The balls are inspected before the game by the officiating crew, then handled during the game by personnel provided by the home team.

:lol:...This is why I have a hard time understanding why so many people hate the Dallas Cowboys. The Patriots have done more cheap cheat shit combined within the Brady-Belechiek era than Any other team I can remember.

If this was Dallas, folks would be screaming for them to get banned from the Super Bowl. But the NFL won't ban Brady because he is one of their "Golden Childs". Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Tom Brady are the NFL's "Golden Child's". On the other hand, folks like Romo, Vick, Cam, etc. never get a pass.

Politics in the NFL is a real thing.

The NFL is not gonna postpone the Super Bowl.

Add the New Orleans Saints to that list, they never get a pass!
 
Why should the Patriots be banned. They followed protocol. They gave the Ref there ball 2hrs and 15min prior to the game to check. If anything should have been said that was the time to say it. The balls are protected and then given to ball boys at the start of the game. Its the Ref responsibility. All I can say is this will not stop us from going to Super Bowl. I hate it happen but who is the blame here. Clearly not the Pats. WE OWN TO SEATTLE!!!!!!!!

The refs don't hold the balls all game. The ball boys could have deflated them.

You are either in denial or really don't understand the entire process. The refs returned the game balls after the inspection is complete. The Pats took the game balls and altered them to get a competitive advantage. Belichik should be immediately suspended pending the completion of the investigation in which further punishment should be handed down.

I am sure a lot of QB's have done something. Brad Johnson just admitted it. While this didn't affect the game outcome. It's always the Patriots up to something. They are the first ones who need to walk the straight and narrow with their history.

The NFL needs to come down on them.

Seattle just got every call in this Super Bowl. Watch. The NFL wants this to go away. I am sure deep down they hope Seattle wins. Although I am sure New England brings more revenue to the league being a bigger market team.

But he does it before the refs inspects the football. Did you miss the part where he said he watches the refs take air out?

The Pats are a pass first team. Brady had a pretty good day passing the ball. If you take that away there is no way in hell blunt has a big day.

To correct this alleged cheating by the Patriots, you want the NFL to risk being placed under even more scrutiny by having its game officials favor Seattle? (as if the league hasn't had enough problems, especially in these playoffs, with perceptions about officiating)

I heard a report yesterday that all teams manipulate the ball in some fashion before and during the game. At most the Pats should get a fine and maybe lose some draft picks. Postponing the Super Bowl is crazy and would never happen. They could find out that Belichick personally injected all of his players with HGH and he spiked the Colts gatorade and the game would still go on. :lol:

Really, just enjoy the Super Bowl with New England in it. This will soon blow over. Its actually funny as hell. Deflate balls for competitive advantage!!!!! So how do we no the refs checked the balls or even better than that the Refs did not deflate the balls. Speculation at best. But this deflated ball scandal is actually pretty good. WE OWN TO SEATTLE!!!!!!
