SCG last year was cool even with the weather, a lot of people didn't even make it to the game they stayed in their hotels or went to the malls. The weather stopped it from being really epic. The buzz for this year is similar to the one last year. My HS partner from Bham is flying down just because he knows how the SWAC gets down, and he graduated from USM lol

what was the attendance like last year at the Swac Championship game?

Perhaps you just caught him at a bad time. I've seen him turn out New Orleans a bunch of times......He is a bad brother!

All their endzone seats are sold out now in the lower level. Look at the blue dots on SU side and Alcorn in the lower level lmao

Alcorn band is in 135, SU in 115. They are blocking off 116 117 for the concert. It was 118, 119 and 120 and they opened those up because of so many SU fans buying them, and they opened up 118 today and that section is just about gone in hours. lmao

I don't know how many will be at the game ,but I can tell you Alcornites are deep at the Marriott Residence Inn up the street from NRG.

Did I see correctly that they played a HS football game on the field last night?

NRG Stadium has some field issues and really needs to limit to one game per weekend if they can. It's a bad situation. Hope the poor field conditions don't hurt the quality of play or impact players' health statuses.

You do know they have field turf for one field and grass for the Texans field.. Bob McNair not letting his grass field get played on. The field turf can handle multiple games.

I am very much aware of the field situation at NRG. They have multiple options.

What you said. That didn't happen the week Sam played SFA followed by a Texans game the next day. SHSU played on grass, not turf.

Again, hope the field is not in bad shape for the title game. Would be shame.

I just left Baton Rouge yesterday to pick up my daughter for the Winter break. While I was on my way there, when I just crossed the Louisiana state line going into Lake Providence, I started seeing vehicles with SU flags. As I got closer to Tallulah, I started seeing more get on I-20. Of course when I got into BR, I saw them everywhere!

After I scooped up my child, I stopped at Top Choice to get an Alpha shirt for one of the young men at my church (he's like a son to me & brother to my daughters). While I was in there, (it was kinda full in there, btw), I overhead 2 ladies (one works there) talking about the trip to Houston. The one that worked there said she'd have to leave early that day (Friday) to go to the game. The other asked her if she was closing the shop early; she replied "No. They (Top Choice) will probably head to Houston early Saturday morning. My husband and I are traveling with the Quarterback Club. They're taking 17 buses to the game and are leaving later tonight."

The other woman said her husband found seats for them with some charter company SU uses; she had said they were lucky to find those seats because the company had sold out for the game.

We stopped in St. Francisville to grab a bite; I saw 2 cars at the Dollar General with Alcorn flags on them, and as we got closer to Natchez, we saw a few more. Even after we crossed the Mississippi back into Vidalia and Ferriday, I still saw vehicles with SU flags on them.

They blocked that area becuase that is where the stage its gonna be for the after game concert.

They had a scheduling snafu when the Pineys Woods game was the day before the Texans played. They usually don't have other games on the same weekend so they don't have that problem with the grass field being played on.

Makes sense...

Were these pictures before the game last night or after? Great exposure for the SWAC in having two major Texas HS playing on a field decorated out for SWAC title game the night before.
