Devil's Gun Trigger Man
onward and upward son!

If you are going to fire Comegy, then you needed to make sure that you hire someone that is better than you fired. HBCU's have a limited number of good coaches that they can hire and you fire someone that is successful every year.
Now the same people that wanted Comegy hung is the same people complaining because the new coach that they wanted is worst. Comegy should have been kept if Harold Jackson is the best they could have done.
That's what I said somewhat in another thread. And that's my rationale. Some HBCU fans for some reason or another think they have the level of affluence of the SEC schools. HBCU fans should realize that winning and losing seasons are cyclic for HBCUs; That's because HBCU athletic programs cannot consistently acquire top 100 blue chip talent every year like a "Alabama" or "Florida State". You just can't hire and fire on emotion. You got to put the pen to the paper and look at the reality on what level your program is on. If you can find a coach that can motivate and teach mediocre players to a championship game, then why fire that coach? It's an ego thing and most of us males know that ego and testosterone can lead to bad decisions.

No credible coach is going to take the job at Jackson State if they fire this guy after one season or in the middle of one season. That would be crazy.
Wanna bet?
Blackbengal; then with the limited choices of good candidates that HBCU's have, that good coach will come? It will have to be someone with JSU roots. It will be hard since you fired a guy that took you to the SWAC Title game and after the loss, you decided to fire him, knowing that they have been disciplined for years.
Give the man time! "Snicker"

How did you all find Fobbs after that circus of going through Spears lawsuit and Doug?
Damn, he's already 70 years old! How much more time does he need? Until 75, 80!
Fobbs is a Gram man. Plus he has been on their radar for years.

But this reminds me of when Southern fired AD Floyd Kerr and then-Chancellor Ed Jackson said "we need to go to another level" ... and hired Greg LaFleur. The rest is history.
But really, JSU went through this went Robert Hughes (R.I.P.) to James Bell. We all thought JSU wouldn't remotely come close to making a similar hire.

Probably telling everyone that they have an Asian OC that is smarter than everyone else and a great hire. :smh:  :emlaugh:
Anyone with half of a brain and could read would have seen that LaFleur didn't have nowhere near the resume to be Athletic Director. If that was the case, his alum mater (LSU) would have hired him for something. Southern's Alumni needs to keep it's eyes on the political strings that are attached.
JSU smoking up money like it's crack.![]()

Pbla, HBCU fans aren't listening. Most operate off pure emotions.
