FCS HBCU's have been ducking and dodging WSSU for the last 4 years.

I found it ironic that folks on here literally had the audacity to proclaim (WSSU's record of 30 consecutive victories ) was "tarnished" considering how deliberately FCS HBCUs have been dodging playing WSSU. Both schools from the SWAC and MEAC especially over the last 2 seasons have played several D2 schools even VUL has popped up on several SWAC schedules. However for some "strange" reason WSSU which has publicly expressed interest in playing a FCS HBCU has yet to be contacted for a game.

This year alone the SWAC has played VUL, University of Faith, Concordia College, Tuskegee, Central Methodist, Louisiana College,Central State. These are "Cupcake" games... WSSU is NOT a cupcake of any measure.

Of course playing teams from a "lesser" division is supposed to be an automatic victory but WE all know that is hardly the case versus WSSU. WSSU is not relevant because of it's CIAA success. WSSU did what NO HBCU has done recently and that is go to the NCAA Playoffs and WIN! WSSU has won 6 NCAA Playoff games!

WSSU would love to play an FCS should BUT yall actually have to step up the plate and make the call. NCAT & NCCU have been ducking WSSU since 2010.

It's very hard for WSSU to schedule opponents , winning 47 games in 4 years will do that at any level.

You should direct this to the meac board. Speaking for jsu, playing WSSU would not make sense financially or football wise. Neither did playing VUL and I hope we never schedule them again. I believe that VUL game came because of some buddy buddy hook-ups.

Playing Tuskegee or Delta State would make more sense for us than playing WSSU. Outside of maybe AAMU, I don't think a WSSU game would be appealing to anyone in the SWAC. Now, NCCU and NCAT would be natural games for yall to play.

No SWAC Fanbase will be excited to play WSSU, because most of us don't know about WSSU RECENT success. We will view playing WSSU, the same way we view playing Lane or Paine college, and WSSU tries to demand more money than a normal D2. Mother Tuskegee is the only d2 Gramblinites will be happy to play, because of our history

Seems like WSSU ducked FCS HBCU's when they decided to go back D2. I don't think a FCS school would look at WSSU on the schedule as a big game that draws a big crowd.

We were dodging them ugly cheerleaders yall got. No one wanna be spooked by them gobbling's. :scared: I know its Halloween season and all but mane that ain't right. :scared:

Actually when we played then in ,92 there was a very nice size crowd.

Sir, WSSU ducks white schools on their level and above... If you wanted to play FCS HBCUs maybe you should not have run back to D2 like some punks.

You a damn LIE! Unless you live under a rock it's pretty hard to ignore WSSU success over the last 4 years. WSSU won back to back HBCU National Champion titles with 13-1 and 14-1 seasons. The 2 best seasons EVER in the history of Black College Football! WSSU also played on ESPN for the D2 National Championship a game which trended NATIONALLY over the course of the game. It was noted several times that season that WSSU was the FIRST HBCU in 30 years to play for a National Championship!

WSSU also was featured on ESPN Sportscenter atleast 5 times last year including LEADING the Monday Night 6pm telecast proceeding ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast. ESPN even covered WSSU's Playoff games and featured our highlights during the show.

If I'm being REAL, Grambling is IRRELEVANT in the discussion of teams WSSU would want to play anyway considering your current status of "SORRY"!

If you ask any fans of the 10 SWAC schools about WSSU, unless they are a graduate student it is safe to assume they don't know or care about all that. If your program was truly as great as you claim it is, you would not have to post long messages, stupid pictures, boring videos, and pointless gifs to try and make a point. Just man up and realize your university is not important.

You are not relevant to FCS fans in HBCU. You think being on ESPN a few times have folks tuned in? It is a lot of stuff on ESPN that they talk about. But I do not remember WSSU getting that much run as you say it.

Now ND State of FCS is getting run and having college day done in Fargo. Grambling got more press and run last year for their boycott and firing of Doug Williams on ESPN than WSSU has in the last 4 years. Even Stephen A Smith your own alum don't mention yall like talking about. If it was so great, why did Maynor leave for a FCS job if WSSU is the isht?

Nobody watched that D2 title. I bet you money the ratings for the SCG on ESPN was higher. We got our own championship game being aired by ESPN. Our conference by itself. If WSSU don't advance in the D2 Playoffs. You don't make it to TV often.

I would rather play WSSU than UVL and Louisiana College. It must be a home game tho. If the SWAC play UVL and Central Methodist, we can play WSSU. To be honest WSSU is no easy win, that's why we won't play them.

Yep. The reason why some college football fans recognize, Mount Union and UW-Whitewater is because they're always in the D3 title game. Same with WSSU.

Wasn't it Broadway that called them out about not playing? How about scheduling those two MEAC schools in NC first instead of peddling wolf tickets with the SWAC alums. SC State? Hampton? Howard? UMES? All those schools are a lot closer to WSSU than Huntsville or Montgomery (or TSU in Nashville).

No, actually we won't play them because they don't want to come down here and play us.

You're being sarcastic right?

Playing WSSU, would generate as much excitement as playing Edward Waters.

Need to do something about that Logo
