Dude, PV gonna blow ya'll out regardless. Your offense won't be able to keep up with theirs this time... and to top it off, ya'll can't run the ball. Oh well.

really? LOL. Oh well. You are going to be in for a shock this year.

JR, I hope ya'll can but you know as well as I do that running that ball was your weakness last year. That is why you all claim you were losing in the beginning of the season. You all cried and cried until Worm let ya'll air it out because the ground game sucked.

Yep, I was wrong last year but not the other years before that....

So just in September, you think you can beat ULL? NWState? Alcorn? PV?

Keep in mind that you play Alcorn and PV on the road. THEN you still have to get past JSU and AlaState.

I think you can prob beat Central Methodist, TxSo, GSU, and UAPB and your chances are good vs AAMU and Valley.

TP, you're making so much sense. You even showed dude the first four opponents and ALL those games are tough games. He doesn't realize that his toughest schedule is at the beginning of the season with a "wet-behind-the-ear" quarterback; no proven running game; no coach that knows how to make adjustments; no defense and no defensive line, but dude think they're great?! Yeah, right.

It started off that way. But it actually got better as the year went on.That's why Tillery ran for 800 yards after missing the first few games. The OL is back and deep. We have even more RBs in the stable and all the Qbs are mobile unlike Dray was.

Worm had the right idea. But the problem was trying to run more than we passed when you had an experienced QB but inexperienced RBs at the time. Now the strengths are different. I expect to be more of a balance with a new QB. But the OL looks really good. Big, not fat and agile. Not to mention they have playing for 3 years. I think we 3 Jrs and 2 Srs on the line. Everybody back except for the Sr who will get his chance to start at Center.

OK..but it seems to me that the run game only works if the passing game is featured more.. but if you got blockers and runners, it might work. We shall certainly see. :D

You do know any game SU played against a SWAC team away from A.W. last year they won...

You guys are really high on PV because of their offense. But like I have said, they are still SMALL on defense. Alcorn don't scare me either. It is always a dog fight with them. You keep worrying about just us playing those teams. But they got other folks on their schedule as well. You can't focus on one or two opponents. Who knows, 2 losses may win the West.

It would be dumb of Worm to think he can throw the ball as much as he did with Dray right out the gate. I do think we will throw more as the season goes. I see more pistol like read option from our Qb this year than we could do with Dray. We couldn't do that with him.

Our toughest road game is PineBluff

Its just so hard to get there. They are talking about moving that game to Jackson

Hello GR!:wavey: I'm glad you're back for the season....it was a little boring around with you gone!:)

As for your post, you know it's not hard for you to get to PB. It's less than a 4 hour drive and taking I-20 to Tallulah and 65N to Pine Bluff is a straight shot. And no one is talking about moving that game to Jackson. You said that the last time JSU played in PB, remember?:)

I hate I'll miss you and Robber for that game.

Lionness, how will PB be this year? Are your players returning, the ones that were suspended last year?

What will be your toughest game on the schedule.....and why I know all of them but (Pick 1)

Mods let this thread cook...

I got
SU vs Alcorn

I think we have a hard time winning up there, we let them hang around and hang around and in the 4th quarter they seem to come away with the W.

I think this will be our toughest challenge on the road, I know they will be up for that game and they always play SU hard...more so on the road, but at their place they are tough to beat

I know you said pick one, but with the season we had last year, and with our OC, all of our games will be tough. I'm trying to get over my nauseousness about this season, but the closer we get to August 30th, the more sick I feel when I think about football. And October is "homecoming" month for us; my boys are playing SU, GSU, and TXSU for their homecoming. And the thought of that makes me even more nauseous!

This is going to be another long season for my folks!

Oh no! I thought a comeback for uapb was imminent!!!

JayRob, to be honest, I really don't know (as far as field performance). I've always had complete faith in my boys talent on the field......the ability is there, it's the coaching that worries me.

As far as returning players, yes, some of them will return because they have been declared academically eligible by the NCAA and UAPB to return. Some have graduated and there were a few that had some issues going on back home and were not able to come back.

2nd biggest fear game for us IMO...Lol...we lose focus on our H.C...I just hope we can be focus for yall...This is clearly my 'trap' game for us on our schedule

I don't mean any smack at all when I say this.....

For some reason, I've never liked playing at Veterans Memorial (now known as Jackson State University Stadium) and A.W. Mumford. For some reason, I just get nauseous whenever my boys have to play at those 2 locations. And when I saw that Fort Valley backed out of playing SU for the Jags' homecoming, and that Dr. Broussard declared our game as the SU homecoming, I just about lost my lunch!

I've never been to an SU homecoming, but my youngest daughter went in 2012 (to see my oldest) and she said it was so many people there! All those Jags, all that hype, all that energy in visitor territory.....I just don't know if my boys can handle that. I hope we can stay focused during all that! It's hard enough playing away from home....it will be even more tough playing in front of an away crowd celebrating homecoming. But at least it won't be new to us.

I know PVs defense needs help. SUs needed some help as well and you both went and got transfers to help. BUT PVs offense and Alcorn's offense is gonna be waaaaaaaaaaay too much to handle in September. The best thing you can hope is that your defense shows up because you don't have the offense to get into a shoot out.

I want to see competition!!! The swac was pitifully weak last year so I hope txsou, uapb, aamu can come out strong.

I don't know if you were there, but that UAPB/JSU game last year (in Jackson) was pretty competitive! One of the best UAPB/JSU games I've seen.

Remember Dray was hurt that game...and still hung 60 on them cornballs...dude couldn't run...and we 'still' put up 60 on the board...
Come on TP..even you know this is a dangerous SU team that the SWAC is facing..Lol...

The championship team was not as good as this team bruh....

Funny that SU is the ONLY team in the SWAC that improved from last year, ok

Indeed it was!!! Some bad blood was boiling leading up to the game, were your boys competitive in their other games?
