SU faces postseason ban

That if foul, we have a stupid Commissioner, sends the wrong message, if you are banned then you should be banned. Have to have some kind of standards. smh
Hold up. Our scores are good. This has something to do with crap that happened in 09. What standards do you speak of?

The worst part about it is that if the reg season champ plays a banned team in the finals, the reg season champ can blow the game and still go to the Big Dance. I like it better when our champ goes to the NIT anyway. Gives them a better shot at winning IMO.

Our illustrious commissioner has declared that all 10 teams will be eligible for the tournament and if a banned team wins then the team with the best regular season record will represent the conference in the "big dance"........:smh:

When was this said?
I can't find anything to this.

How can he override what the presidents voted for and approved?

He ain't got no nuts to do that.

Southern continues filing NCAA paperwork

Southern sent another batch of paperwork to the NCAA on Wednesday in its ongoing effort to have a postseason ban lifted.

The university met its ninth deadline set by the NCAA in order to allow it to make a ruling in time for the Jaguars men’s and women’s basketball teams to participate in the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament and potentially the ensuing NCAA tournament in the event of a favorable ruling.

Southern is attempting to fully document the academic performance of its student-athletes during the past four years.

The NCAA discovered “unusable” data during a routine examination of academic records the Jaguars had submitted, and instituted the postseason ban in early December.

Southern might not be through with its documentation. If the NCAA has any additional requests after reviewing what has been submitted, the university will have an opportunity to respond to those.

So this is STILL on going? Gotcha!!!

It may be with the presidents' blessing.....remember, the commish is hitting up each athletic department for 25 grand worth of tournament tickets. Would it be a problem if the banned schools had to fork up the money and have one team or (in su's case no teams) in the tournament?

Either the kids aren't doing their schookl work or somone that handles this is dropping the ball.... Academics comes first in my house and if all parents raised their student athletes by this rule then we wouldn't have these problems at schools...

For the last time, the data was not good so the NCAA couldn't use it. This is not a APR thing because it was stated that scores and stuff were good. It is paperwork from 2009-10 that they said was not accurate and from my understanding our WBB team never had APR issues. Our men had them when Spivery was coaching because a lot of them left but Coach Banks got the scores up including a perfect score for the recent APR scores. We will give them what they asked for and we will be good

There's a lot of people on here that wasted a lot of good money that their parents spent for them to get an education

And how do you know this other than praying and guessing? That's it, you don't.

We are doing just that, praying, guessing, and hoping. Most of us don't know until the NCAA makes their final decision.

Until then, we are still in a holding pattern.
