Do you think Rick Comegy should have been fired? Here are the results so far!


Bama didnt win the championship this year, but their head coach got a raise. Just saying!!!!! All coaches lose but not all coaches have consistant winning seasons either

- You recruit players to fit your system. If you think a new coach is just going to come in and run the spread read-option, you have another thing coming. It also doesn't help Ivy's case that he will battling Tevin Chapman, etc. who is a senior. The new system may benefit Chapman more than Ivy because Chapman may catch on quicker).

Dude, this past team wasn't built for the spread read-option. That's what we kept telling the coaches. We should have been a pro-style, I-formation and run right at you team. Pass off the run. But feature the RB's instead of an average QB with a not so strong arm and a penchant for turning the ball over.

JSU folks all know about Comegy and preperation. The player stepping out is a part of player awareness and lack of discipline...5 possessions and not imagaination on offense every game. No urgency in and out of the huddle, running into kickers not just in this game. Never ever covering the kickoff. This was the best year for that but most years teams starting from the 35-50 yard line...It's not just wins folks. If other coaches can get this even Carl Morgan, why can't Comegy coached teams look the part and win. The judge just lost games and got beat after year one. Comegy just never game planned for the other team. We just gone do what we do. If they stop it we have no plan to adjust. No counter plays when they stop us. Everyone of you guys hated Comegy ball but now we shouldn't let him go for fear of another bell...Gram hooked up Doug again and let his Son play that why he was their version of Bell. SU didn't do a real search either. Sometime you make a good call in business and it works. let's just let it play out..

This is too easy...:lol:. So if all Comegy did was win off of talent, why should a JSU person know that Ivy will be the frontrunner in the New Coaches' Offense? I as a new Head Coach don't need know the #1 and #2 OR #3 from a previous coaches' perspective because I'm the new head coach. What makes you think the #3 in the previous system can't be my #1 :lmao:.

He didn't want to change assistants...Are you guys that dense. And that play should never happen if he had clock managment and game planning 101...

Our QB had 56 touches. Our best players 14. That's coaching. You have a decent QB who you let control the entire game. That play is irrelavant to the lost. We lost in game planning an not knowing SU glaring weakness which was and is Run Defense. Run it until they wear down. Also SU could not adjust to up tempo yet we walking on the field and getting into those slow plays slow...Coaching

I'm done. He's gone no need to debate. If we lose next year what will be different from losing this year. I know one thing. This will potentially be one of our best Springs in 9 years. Why becuase they will actually use it to get better. Not just as a glorified scrimmage about nothing...

I wonder if the Giants are gonna fire Tom Coughlin. He has 2 Super Bowls, yet man are calling for his head. I wonder why KC fired Marty for going 12-4, 9-7 and 14-2 but lost in the playoffs. Gene Chizik went 8-5 (Outback Bowl), 14-0 (BCS champs), 8-5 and 3-9, and got fired by Auburn.
 
It is because you JSU folks think some one is scared of yall. Yall make comments and think on one will respond. Funny I never have a problem with Robber, 97JSUlegend, Get Ready, JST83, Crit, Southsuburbs, TP, or Pops 33. You don't see that do you? Comprehension is not hard.

The difference is you can go from losing a SCG and having a respectable record this year to being the SWAC's doormat next year

Comegy was being praised becasue he was the best coach in the SWAC but most of us in the DEN still wanted better.

What difference does it make? We have enough players to put together a good squad and run whatever a new coach wants. That's all you need to be worried about.. oh and you need to worry about that azz whoopin u gonna catch in the Magnolia Heritage Classic.

Yeah, we could go from 8-4 to 4-8 or we could go from 8-4 to 12-0. We realize there are two ways to go but our goal is to move up, not down. If we had handed Comegy our 2003 team with Kent and company, we would have been killin folks. When we hand this team over to our new coach, we gonna drag ya'll from endzone to endzone if we get a coach who can put our players in the right position to win.

Comegy's downfall. He never embraced the basic concept of spring practice and it cost us year after year.
 
jSU will not find a halfway decent coach to sign a contract with that low amount buyout clause of $50k.

That may have been just a Comegy thing. Dude has been on the chopping block. He's the first coach of ours to have that, and it came in his last extension, which the admins really were reluctant to do.

We won't try that with a new coach. If Comegy had won the SWAC last year or this year, i don't think they would have given him such a disrespectful contract either.

But he didn't even take JSU to the ceiling of the SWAC! He might have reached his ceiling, but not JSU. He was a great coach when you look back at the **** years and compare, but do everyone that is against JSU's decision to let him go think we can't do better????

Yes we did. But we were not even sniffing the SCG and had APR issues amongst other things.

I think JSU is justified in letting Comegy go. He was there longer than I thought he would be. I never thought he fit in Jackson anyway. Good luck on the next hire.
