Bighead, I think most people are just scared. Most wanted a new coach but we know getting better than Comegy is hard. However, we chose to take the chance. I think they know what they want and it wasn't Comegy.

Nah TP I have to disagree, most ppl know it was a dumb idea to fire dude...when you guys were getting there to the 'ship'....Dude was put W'z in the column and they are asking why was he fired..it's not like he didn't have a bad season....

There is a right way and a wrong way of doing anything, what that "Kit Kat Licker" and "Queen Myers" did to Comegy was so wrong!

Jackson State is looking for a coach to who will take JSU to the next level...this is not hard to see..Comegy couldnt do it!

I won't say it was a dumb idea. We did have the option of making him change assistants BUT a good coach would WANT to change assistants. Eight years was enough. I find it hard to believe that we will hire another ****. Anyone should be able to come in and take us to the SCG. JSU normally wins 7 games a year but just stepping on the field.
 
JSU should have fired the assistants that wasn't pulling their weight. No you have to find a coach and assistants which in turn will change the chemistry of the team and the foundation will be different. Lord knows its hard to find someone to replace a winning coach, Grambling knows to well but with the new coach and the assistants he is assembling we will finally be back on track but look what we had to go through. JSU is crazy lol

i will be the first to admit that I am skerd! LOL

However, WE ARE JSU. GSU went thru political and financial issues. We won't be going thru that. The last time we fired a winning coach, the successor was a hook up. I don't see that happening this time.

The man was a winner.
I don't get into JSU business, but in my opinion it was a bad decision. However, time will tell.
I guess the JSU-Mafia thinks the other SWAC schools don't want to win the SWAC championship.
Everyone wants to be number one.

what coach would want to come in a situation like that though? Dude has a ring, has a winning record and beat pretty much everybody in the Swac except 2 squads that were better than them Alcorn and SU?

I mean what does Jackson expect? Dude got them to the peak of what Jackson State is...a winning program that contends every year, dominates lesser teams but has trouble against winning teams. This is the history of Jackson State football and he restored that....fans were back in their seats, Boom rocking, people enjoying themselves.

Can't help he got thrashed against Alcorn & then beat by SU...it happens. Those are big games and those two schools have a history of thrashing Jackson when we are good (Grambling as well). It was a dumb move. Oh well, no where else to go but down.

No, we are going up. Comegy lost 20 games by a TD or less. We are looking for a coach who can get us over that hump. If we win those 20 games, we would have been to the SCG 7 out of the last 8 years, won 6 SWAC Champtionships, and had (at least) two BCF national championships. He underachieved at JSU.. PERIOD.

..and Alcorn was not better than JSU. Ask AlaState and AAMU who they would rather play again. :snicker:

I aint gone lie I wasn't shocked when yall fired Comegy because yall hate losing to SU

I do know this yall will regret it in the end lol
 
Every school, every administration has the right to set their own standards. Comegy wasn't a bad coach. He got us back to respectability after Bell. But he couldn't reach the next level. He couldn't win a title in the worst conference in FCS. The only reason our record looked good is because we play in the SWAC. We wouldn't have been a top 4 team in the MEAC. We expect more at JSU. We paid him twice the salary as our previous coach, let him hire whomever he wanted, gave him a good recruiting budget and good facilities.
