Auburn and Florida State walk into the Rose Bowl

Yeah I agree. I believe folks are just happy for Winston but truth is they havent played anybody. Not saying they're not talented but Auburn will be ready.
 
3) How will Jameis Winston handle all of the hype after he wins the Heisman. It has been well-documented how many Heisman winners tend to struggle in their bowl game due to all of the PR appearances

Recent Heisman winner bowl game performances.

2012: Manziel vs. Oklahoma in Cotton Bowl - Manziel set an FBS bowl record with his 229 yards rushing on 17 carries, and completed 22 of 34 passes for 287 yards.

2011: Griffin vs. Washington in Alamo Bowl - Griffin was 24 of 33 for 295 yards — and his only touchdown throw came on the game's opening drive.

2010: Newton vs Oregon in Fiesta Bowl - Newton threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 64 yards.

2009: Ingram vs Texas in Rose Bowl - Ingram had 90 yards by halftime on his way to a game-high 116 yards rushing with two touchdowns in 22 carries.

But what about

2008: Sam Bradford? -lost to Florida and struggled all night against that Florida defense.

2007: Tim Tebow?- lost to Michigan(even though he was playing injured) and it was more so their defense that lost the game.

2006: Troy Smith- I don't need to go into details about this one.

2005: Reggie Bush- Commits a crucial turnover against Texas, and never seemed to get comfortable in the game.

2003: Jason White got shell-shocked against LSU.

2001: Eric Crouch- Miami embarrassed Nebraska. This Heisman really should have gone to Rex Grossman who clearly had the best performance.

I think the last four years of Heisman winners having success speaks to the trend obviously changing for the better.

And there you have it. Plus, FSU defensively will be the most talented defense Auburn has played all year.

The question is ... can Auburn make enough stops on defense to beat FSU? I don't think they can.

Auburn is going to win in a rout over Florida State. Here is why:

1) Florida State has played probably the softest schedule of any national title game participant in a long time. When you end up playing Duke for the conference title, something is wrong. 4-8 Florida had Winston and company struggling until their defense wore down. So any team with a pulse on defense can hold Florida State in check.

2) Auburn's rushing attack is darn near impossible to stop once it gets rolling. And once Florida State begins to cheat up to the line, look for them to throw some passes over their head too.

3) How will Jameis Winston handle all of the hype after he wins the Heisman. It has been well-documented how many Heisman winners tend to struggle in their bowl game due to all of the PR appearances.

Jameis Winston has never struggled. I've watched him play since high school. Look out for a shoot out between Winston and Marshall! Both execute well which leads me to believe it will be a high scoring game. I like the matchup.

The one that Duke one a divisional championship in, only to lose 1,000 to 7 in the championship game. The teams that Duke beat to win the division are some of the same sorry teams that FSU beat. Duke even held mighty FSU scoreless in the first quarter.

Oh well, I hate Auburn, but at least the National Championship will remain where it belongs . . . in the College Football Capital of the planet . . . Sweet Home Alabama . . .

Some of ya'll just hate the ACC.

FSU will win it but not by a lot. Auburn will be the best team they have played all year. i can actually see FSU starting out slow and then going on a nice run to put a fork in em.

TP,

No one hates the ACC. You would be hard pressed to find many people around these parts that don't respect FSU & Clemson....You have to deal in reality though, it is for the most part a weak college football conference.....It's a stronger basketball conference.

Well, that's gonna change soon. We just just as many powerhouse programs as any other conference and ironically, while people are on Clemson's nads, they are typically NOT of them.

Check his 1st quarter against Florida. He didn't begin putting up good numbers until the defense finally got tired due to the horrible offense. He even threw a horrible pick that ended a scoring drive for them.

Va. Tech had nine 10-win seasons between 2002 through 2011. The Hokies won 11 games in
2005, 07, 10 and 11. They might not have won national titles or played for national titles, but they've been as consistent of a team in the country since Frank Beamer took over.
 
Yeah VT has been consistent

As for the FSU vs. Auburn game, the only thing that worries me is AU's rushing attack...FSU gave up 200 yards rushing...149 of thoes yards to Heisman Finalist, Andre Williams...and FSU actually trailed Boston College 17-3 before cranking the offense and winning 48-34

I still have FSU beating Auburn, however
