The civil rights movement was empowered by 18, 19, and 20 year olds....

We aint talking about "civil rights." We talking about food, travel, and playing football. Last time I heard, those kids knew what those facilities looked like when the joined the team. Last time I heard, those same students experienced tough travel situations last year.

These personal issues only came to light after Doug left and they started getting their ass drug every week. This is nothing short of personal feelings by some pussy ass students who are upset at their losing situation and want to blame everyone else for their problems. Now they tryna put it off on food and travel as if they didn't get fed on the long bus ride to Indy.

I call bullshat on all of em, because that's exactly what it is.

But I heard they did get fed, but I guess they didn't get fed "enough" by their standards.

I think this whole not getting fed thing is being over blown. I have no idea what, where and how much they ate before the game in Montgomery, but I know for a fact after the game they "got fed" at Golden Corral. Their buses pulled in there as I was gassing up across the street.

I only laugh cause its true. I call out people on this board everytime they start that PWC's don't care about their black players like we do argument.

I was an athlete at an HBCU. I know what the deal was. We complained about similar things among ourselves on the yard.

And if those kids hadn't taken this stance, it would've been more of the same ole shit.

For me, it is NOT about them taking a stance, it is ABOUT THEM TAKING A STANCE THAT HURTS OTHERS MORE THAN THE PEOPLE THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE CHANGE. It's only 150 miles from Grambling to Jackson.

So if they would've had a string of 3-4 away games in a row, should they wait 3-4 weeks until they come home to make their point in demanding better treatment and to get fed properly?

Don't cry. Donate money to Grambling. Shit, we all should donate to Grambling instead of worrying about homecoming. This is bigger than football.

I Wasn't thinking About OR Talking About Money Or Homecoming In The Post!! I Think We Are On The Same Page However.

But I heard they did get fed, but I guess they didn't get fed "enough" by their standards. And why are we taking the opinions of freaking 18, 19, 20 year olds as the gospel. That's the damn problem with this generation! We are letting the kids rule us!

Thank you!

So now you are costing the school more money...because we might sue grambling. So now what they have done is put gram and hbcu's on a big stage, costing their school money by not playing games. I say games bc it makes no sense to play next week or any other game if things are so bad. So whoever else they have left to play will also take a hit financially. NO bayou classic possibly. But if they accomplish what they are seeking then all is not lost.

Define better treatment and getting fed properly? What are you basing these points on? How has it been confirmed that Gram players didn't get fed properly and/or were not getting treated fairly?

As I said earlier, all of this is bullshat and yall know it. These players are sick of getting their ass roasted and don't have their beloved coach (Doug) anymore. That's all this is. Players upset and using "sub-topics' as a deflection of what that real issues are.

If it isn't, that's a problem. These boys are out there burning off all kind of calories & energy. The least the school could do is adjust resources for their nutrition.

Ya'll are some sick sap suckas for dissing the players on this. If that was YOUR kid not getting fed to play FOOTBALL, you would be raising hell too.
COSIGN!!

If it was my kid, something would have done long before now if this was valid, but i am gonna make sure my kid eats, and it don't take grambling to do it. But from everything I heard, they didn't start raising hell til Doug got fired.

Former coach Doug Williams, who was fired from his position on Sept. 11, said in a text to USA TODAY Sports on Friday, "I'm proud of them boys. They took a stance."

Got text from recently-fired Doug Williams, regarding the mutiny at Grambling. He told me, "I'm proud of them boys. They took a stance."

That's just like white folks telling Rosa Parks back in 1955, "Why you don't wanna give up your seat today? You had no trouble moving to the back of the bus last week!"

But if they accomplish what they are seeking then all is not lost.

But what do they want to accomplish? Better travel? Better food? New coach? New facilities? They can't get any of that within this year! That's why all of this is bullshat and hurt feelings. All they have done perpetuate the eventual demise of Gram athletics and possibly the arrival of them going D2 in the next 4-5 years.

Recruitment will suffer incredibly next year as well as school enrollment. If you cancel the rest of the season (likely scenario), you risk potential lawsuits from the rest of the teams on the schedule as well as SWAC violations and fines--not to include public ridicule.

These players are very short-sited and are not looking at the total picture of the havoc they are creating.

And there you have it people. The ring leader to all of this foolishness! This is all about Doug leaving and the players having a "connection" with Doug since he recruited them. This is going to set Gram back years!

This is making all HBCUs look like dirt crap...Thank You Grambling...you know the media will talk about all HBCUs now...smh
