Only @ SU

I do believe it was you who once said Jindal was doing the right things to get Louisiana on the right track. I do believe once Jindal is out of office, Louisiana would have only one way to go but up. IMO, Jindal was Louisiana most destructive governor. To turndown $300 million in stimulus money just because you don't like the current administration is beyond crazy.
Never said Jindal was the right one. Said Jindal was doing EXACTLY what those other Repub governors did in other states (ex. Gov. Deal in Ga with vouchers ). He's following their footsteps.

That's right. Where when we say things are poppin, they really are. BR needs to catch up with the other "Major Metropolitan Cities" instead of living like in the 40's.

My bad. Not Vidalia. Didnt you say you was from Ferriday or Natchez?

But you failed to realize that the game had changed. Maybe if Louisiana would have done what other governors did then, it might would have worked.

Cool. I like to sit out there and chill or walk the walking path. It's really nice out there.

Right now CenLA is experiencing a slight economic boom. The City of Alexandria has one of the best infrastructures in the country, such as rail, interstate, river port, and a commercial airport with lengthy runways and probably the longest runways in Louisiana. The completion of I-49 and the widening of Hwys LA 28 west, US 165, and US 167 is making this happen. I-49 will soon extend to Kansas City. It's already under construction from Shreveport to Arkansas. A future project that might effect your hometown (Vidalia) would be I-14 from North Augusta, SC to Alexandria, LA and possible Austin, TX.

Baton Rouge have grown over the years, but not at a really fast pace like other places it compares to in the country, such as Richmond, VA, and Raleigh, NC. Both of those cities now have a metro population over 1 million. Right now, the area in Louisiana that is in the biggest decline is northeast Louisiana, basically the Monroe area. I do believe Vidalia, LA is somewhere in-between northeast and central Louisiana.

Albamarle Corporation, IBM Corporation and a host of other new corporations have moved headquarters to the Capital Region in recent years. BR is a "boomtown" by almost every major business magazine in the country. Projected MSA population by 2017: 900,000. That would double the populations of jackson, Little Rock and Shreveport.

Baton Rouge could possibly catch Richmond, VA and Raleigh, NC in the next decade.

Actually I don't know which teams you played so there goes your theory. This is what private forums are for.

An RV thread?! Come on Jax, even you had to think about that one.

no...theory is still the same. If you don't care or it doesn't concern you, why post? I do have another theory, but this is the Sports Board. So I won't post it on here.

It don't matter LS, if this was a JSU thread you wouldn't want someone coming in to hijack the thread (now you may expect it but things have to change).

They do all the time...on every JSU thread....... and nobody say a word. It only took 8 post for people to show up on this one.
I KNOW................. :lmao:

JR, dude I'm much smarter than you can.see. ATL was BOOMING in Engineering/Science Technology before 9/11. Trust dude, I know cause that's my field also and I kept a close eye on that field while I was there. It took a major hit after 9/11 in ATL. Some other cities probably didn't, but ATL did. And you just agreed with what I was saying. And A LOT of Headquarters jobs did move.to ATL. I really don't know where you be getting your info from.

Who moved to Atlanta Beans? Big Fortune 500 companies I mean. Who packed up and left their cities like Boeing left Seattle for Chicago a few years back. Like I said, Atlanta has been blessed with HOME GROWN Fortune 500 companies and didn't have to beg folks to move to the city. Now don't get me wrong, a lot of mid sized to large companies have come to Atlanta over the years. Most major corporations have sweetheart deals with the cities they are in. Like my company. Emerson Electric is never leaving St. Louis. They may move divisional HQs to different places. But no matter how bad St. Louis is. They will be there. Same for a former company I worked for in Kellogg's. They will never move from Battle Creek MI. No matter how big they are. LOL. Some folks just are not going to move.

As for the Engineering thing in Atlanta. The ATL has always been more business major oriented than Engineering. Maybe the only folks who had a big in there that were technical were Comp Science Majors. But every major city has had use for them folks. But there is not much manufacturing or design going in Atlanta even before 9/11. You got Ga Power/Southern Company with Engineers, Ga Pacific to a certain degree. But since the Doraville GM Plant and Ford Plant in Hapeville/Airport started downsizing and closing. The Engineering sector has really dried up. I have worked with too many Ga Tech grads that would have loved to have stayed in Atlanta but there were no jobs. These are old heads too. It is just not a place that Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Physics Engineering types flock too. Never has been. But since the CDC is there, you can get in with the research and medical side of stuff if you have the Life Sciences and maybe a Chemistry background or something related to that. But pure Engineering. Nah bruh. It ain't never been no hub for that. Even Delta didn't have that many Engineering jobs. Lockheed Martin is always up and down and it has been that way out there in Marietta for years due to the Gov funded projects. I would imagine they had the most Engineers at one time.

I know too many Tn State, NC A&T, FAMU and other Southeast HBCU Engineering grads who would have killed to be in the ATL. Just was never any jobs. When I have done recruiting events with the companies I worked for, we would pay a visit to Atlanta and we would hear the same story from those students coming out Ga Tech. White and Black.

How many RV's did SU have? Every RV in the country showed up huh?

You know you wished you had played football at SU during your time Pop. Just think you would have been on that 03 and 04 SU team. Back then we would have a 100 RVs at Fan Day. LOL.

JR. I think it is good that SU fans are excited again. I just hope Worm win some games because if not, it gone get ugly for him quick. He gets one free year this year...

I think he got that last year. It was really ugly the way the team finished last season, losing four of it's last five. This is a new year though and one never knows.
I still think they did Pete wrong though. He wouldn't have lost four out of five games no matter what kind of players he had.

Worm only had a partial season. If they lose this year, it will still be Tony Clayton's homeboy fault. By 2014, they will have expectations for worm.

You do know Pete was losing like that at the end. Just winning enough to stay above .500 at the end. Pete got stubborn. He should have brought in new coordinators to help him. Get younger on staff. Shake it up some. I don't think the man forgot how to coach. But his supporting staff was not very good outside of Dooley in my opinion. Orlando, Graves, etc were stubborn and all his assistant money was tied up in those 2. He should have promoted Dooley or never got rid of Oliver.

And actually the last games Big Worm lost were not as ugly as it seems. Both those Bama game losses were because of extra point conversion snafu's. Pine Bluff was just way better than we were and that game was over early. Now what I think Worm will have at his advantage this year is that he is not left with Stump's old staff. This is Worm's staff and his coaches he hired or kept. When you are an interim coach it is always a hard deal not knowing who is with you or who is not once the head man is let go. Especially when you got picked to be the interim over some cats.

He should be more organized this year and he has had a full year almost as head coach.
