So FAMU and Valley in the MEAC/SWAC challenge?

College athletics is a business. Fan support generates revenue, investment, opportunities and further fan support. A bad looking broadcast does not sell our programs to potential corporate sponsors and other broadcast opportunities.

And our program has a well established history of showing up to win.

Cliff what you typed is common sense, everybody knows this. My point is me personally I am more concerned about winning the game than attendance. What good is it to have 60,000 people in a stadium and the teams can't block, catch, or tackle??? TV cameras have ways of shooting angles to compensate for lack of attendance, but there is NOTHING a camera can do about piss poor product being put on the field.

I understand and respect that. But I want us to put on a good production on the field and as a total product. Both schools. So that we accurately and fairly portray the marketability of BCF and our particular brands and it leads to increased opportunities and revenue streams. The landscape of college football is changing once again and we have to be prepared to leverage our strengths or get left FURTHER behind than we already have.

I wonder if the MEAC would ever invite Savannah State to the game like the SWAC did with Valley. No offense, but if the game was in Chicago or St. Louis, the crowd would be much better.
It'll be terrible for both conferences if both teams featured sorry play and no crowd.

Any game featuring a MS school would do well anywhere up I-55. But this is a Disney thing and they wont separate it from their other entities. I think it is crazy for us to play twice a year in Orlando, but ........

You guys feel like we do about playing in New Orleans twice. We don't like it. Can't blame FAMU folks for that.

Hopefully with the return of the 100 and such, the FAMU folks will help with attendance.

I am sure the diehard Valley folks will try to get there. Who knows, this may turn out to be a really good game on the field and look good on TV even if the fans are not there.

Don't know what Disney and the MEAC/SWAC can do to make this better unless they did try the West Coast just see if their locals would support it better than the Orlando locals. Don't know what the answer is to improve this game.

Sidenote: Who is FAMU playing in Atlanta this year? We got screwed out of that game with SWAC scheduling. I hope SU and FAMU can go back to home and home in the future.

Without a band.. FAMU got dumped. North Carolina A&T and SC State are playing.

The 100rd BM are featuring SCSU and NCA&T. We are no longer involved in the ATL classic. The young alumni who wanted to party are pissed, the die hards are happy. Playing our biggest rivals away from home (SU, TnSU and BCU) does NOT do wonders for season ticket sales.

Classics to better up north period. The South has it's classics and they can't be touched. They need to move the game to the midwest or to the LA Disney.

JR,

My barbershop is four blocks away from the Citrus Bowl. One year, I dropped by the shop the day of the game, and people inside were asking each other what's going on at the stadium. The locals have had very little interest in it. With FAMU playing it should be different this year.

Your shop is open on Sundays?

nice try TP, but ummm.....

but in Syndicate's defense (po kid needs all the defense he can get LOL), there are many barbershops open on Sunday.

but I digress, if we're going for attendance alone, I also think the challenge would do better "up North".

like Detroit (snicker)

I can believe it LS. That game just needs some help. I agree it should have more local interest since FAMU is there. I also think the time of the game hurts too. Nobody wants to be in that hot arse Florida sun at mid day. If it was a night game, that would be better.

I know some shops open on Sunday too. LOL.

Even in Minneapolis. LOL.

They try to call me out, right there. Heck, I wish I was lying too. The game just doesn't generate any interest in the local area.

The FL Classic would be screwed if it had to depend on the Orlando market to come to the game. Folks coming from Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami make it the event that it is. Then you have all of Tallahassee and the Daytona Beach driving in to the city.
