Have you read a lot of the comments from those articles about the backlash the Food Network is receiving? Apparently its ok because she only insulted Blacks. You let Jewish folks get insulted and I bet you won't have a bunch of Jews running around giving passes about it that's for sure. I think people are comparing apples to oranges. One CAN be against racism as well as black on black crime etc, and bringing up one to excuse the other is just a lame attempt to deflect.

Then these same "Christians" will make it a point to put the business name out there so folks won't support. Brainwashed!!

It's interesting how this is about Paula Deen, yet when a gangbanger in Chicago shoots and kills innocent bystanders and children it's not about them. Not about the person that pulled the trigger. It's about their environment and every other excuse you can find for them.

Why doesn't Paula Deen get the opportunity to blame her upbringing and environment? Surely, that's the "cause" of her racism. Why doesn't she get the opportunity to explain away her behavior?

I agree!! That's why I hate when folks constantly post the number of killings in Chicago on TSPN as if that represents all of the Black communities in CHicago. Or when folks tag me on FB asking what Mayor Rahm is doing about all the crime. My response..."mayor Rahm hasn't killed anyone. These killings been going on befor he got here and will continue to go on when he leaves. Folks have to WANT to do better".

I don't excuse either behavior. I think both are sickening and disgusting. One of the problems with black people is they get emotionally charged when white people do something heinous (rightfully so) and "turn the other cheek" and choose to ignore the repugnant behavior of blacks (un-rightfully so). It's funny you say that. Click on the link below and go to the 40:00 mark and watch it til around the 55:00 mark. It is an interview Paula Deen did with the New York Times back in October 2012. She mentions how "southern cooking" evolved from the recipes of black people. She doesn't hide that fact. She also takes a moment to address her appreciation for a close friend of hers (a black man) who she says is her "brother from another father".
