Why USC and Not A Black College, Dr. Dre?

Doesn't surprise me one bit of the thought process. It just reminds me of how the folks in the house doing a certain time period of history looked down on the folks working in the hot fields who wanted a different life. You can mask your identity all you like on the outside, but genes are passed on generation to generation. The genes are really showing up on this thread. Amazing!!!!!!

I is the key in this situation. There will always be Big I's that very few people will get a chance to experience.

Panth, He Can Join The Crew!

Yessir. He doesn't go w/ the in crowd. lol Like Phreezey said up there, throw Kenn Rashad in there too. I'm sure he's been outted from the black/gold mainstream as well for questioning/bringing attention to certain "things" that have occurred on 20east. :read:

the problem is these black stars have white folks advising them on where to spend money so they usually push them to spend towards their causes...they put a spin on that cause to make it seem like the blacks are benefiting but behind closed doors the whites are high-fiving

BOOM! ..and there it is....

Man could you imagine the protests and articles that would be written if an HBCU invited Dr. Dre or even David Banner to speak at commencement? :argue:

A HBCU should ashamed of themselves if they didn't allow David Banner AKA Lavell Crump Southern U GRADUATE and former SU SGA President not speak. At least he can talk to the students from a HBCU perspective and he did indeed graduate. I am not disagreeing with you. But I would be the first to slam my own school or any other HBCU if they raised hell about him speaking. I guess as for Dr Dre their argument would be he didn't go to college. But they have no argument for DB. I am sure they will say they hate his rap lyrics.

Everybody ain't that dumb TBF. Don't be fooled. Them mofos know the deal. If you are Michael Strahan you know straight up the plight of your alma mater. If you are Avery Johnson, you know straight up what is going with SU. Maybe these never been to college stars might not really know or care. But some of them just ain't interested in it.

Then you got those who have no affiliation with HBCUs and went to PWCs so that is where their money will go. Jordan is not thinking about any other school before he hooks UNC up. Durant is going to give to UT first. He ain't going to go back to the DC/MD area and help Howard, Bowie State, Morgan State etc.

Speaking of Kevin Durant, he just had a White Jesus and angel tattooed on his back.

I thought about this the other day but just didn't take the time to post it. David Banner would be an excellent speaker at any HBCU. He was also SGA President at S.U. I don't like what he said about Al Sharpton but can forgive him for that.

I'm sure my alma mater has done plenty of wrong...but I donate monthly anyway. Why? Because a lot of our ills are from not having enough of anything...when we collectively come together, you can change the way things are done/handled and who is over it.

And yes, Cee, we continue to see folks who use blacks as the step ladder and when they get to the top, they act like they never knew us...and you know i've BEEN said, AAs have more excuses and apologies for who they are than anyone else on the planet.

Y'all can spin this thing like you wanna but at the end of the day, AAs just got shafted by one of their own...again.

Some of you have the dumbest logic i've ever seen. Black folk got shafted because he chose to give his money to something he actually has a relationship with rather than something he doesn't? LOL...

and many continue to stay behind because the art of connecting the dots to see the larger picture eludes them...

I'm not talking about a SCHOOL objecting. I'm talking about the reaction from folks in the uppity BLACK blogosphere who would slam it.

The late Brother Dr. Minister Khalid Abdul Muhammad was my fraternity brother. He actually was initiated into the fraternity through Sigma Theta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. Before becoming a minister in the Nation of Islam (NOI), he was a Methodist preacher. I actually met him in Los Angeles. Although he was a minister for the NOI, he still recognized his fraternity brothers. I still remember the day when I had a fraternity shirt on and was about to go inside the Baldwin Hills Mall. He stepped out of this limousine just to shake my hand. One thing for sure, he definitely didn't like White people nor Jews.

May this Brother's Soul Forever Rest In Peace in Omega Chapter!!!

Sorry but it just doesn't work. The whole argument is biased as hell and has nothing to do with HBCU's. Why wouldn't Georgia State be able to make the same argument since they graduate more black students than almost all HBCU's? See how ridiculous that seems now?

Not fair. GSU has 32,000+ students. Of course they would graduate more black students; even if GSU is 15% of black students, it'll still top most HBCU's graduation rates. it's a huge university in a major city... and Atlanta at that.

The late Brother Dr. Minister Khalid Abdul Muhammad

I saw him and a few of his Black Panther brothers hanging out in downtown Atlanta after work one evening.........I believe they had an office down there for a minute years ago...
