i agree however doug was stupid for starting his son last year. frank rivers was clearly the better qb. when his son got hurt late in the bayou classic and the jags were up by only 8 points i got nurvous. he is only doing it because he knows grambling cant fire him. gram does not want to be burned again just like his cousin did grambling and alcorn. grambling fans are in a no win situation in this. they will only two more games this year with D.J. at qb. whats messed up about is that they got two more years of his son being quaterback.

I will agree to disagree with you. Like the Grambling Monday Morning QB(s), IMHO you are grossly underestimating him and his team. 1st off, he lost two games by 1 point and another by 3 points so those 3 games from jump street can be flipped. He lost two more games by 5 points and 7 points and those two games can be flipped also. In this funny style conference it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they win it all. We'll see though.

You Ignore that with Rivers in the Bayou Classic our Team came alive and our Fans Came alive after a clearly improved team in 3 snaps

Now we know where FRANK RIVERS (former Grambling QB and pitcher) is attending school. Albany State[/B]. While at GSU I think the QB position was a fiasco with Rivers coming up on the short end. Coach Williams sees his team a lot more than us but what I saw was a different team when Rivers was in the game. In talking with a lineman from GSU, he stated "not that I am a coach but I can see who gave us a better chance and it was Frank". I asked a player from Alcorn about the pitching of Rivers and he said "he was OK but did not live up to the hype form high school". I do not blame Rivers and his family for making a decision to leave GSU. It seems his collegiate career has played out in less than expected fashion not due to his efforts. Grambling will survive and I hope Rivers college experience ends positively.

How is it old news? when was it announced? B/c all the comments in this thread, from April...were just speculation off of Doug's comments and nobody ever confirmed if he really left the football team/school.

No he went to shaw... Made the playoffs, won a conference title and was 1st team all CIAA... Was SWAC potw 2 times before jones benched him for his son Mason.

He made that decision pretty much right after school ended. It's been about a month since it was known he was headed to Albany State.
