:lol::lol:

right on cue, as expected

thanks for the laugh TP

btw, since you're ok with FCS scheduling FBS teams in 12 games seasons, what about FBS scheduling multiple FCS teams. Yearly
:snicker: and smh

Give them another year or two. This tulane coaching staff is serious about getting the local kids and the surrounding areas.

I think we are going to see a change sooner than that. They have a pretty weak schedule next year. Their HC Curtis Johnson is the real deal when it comes to recruiting. I heard that Nick Montana will be starting for them next year. The good thing for Jackson State will be the fact that Tulane will be a very young team.

Maybe so, they have been doing some good recruiting as of lately. Yeah I saw the news story that talked about Nick Montana signing with them.

What about how empty your stadium is gonna be next year? Who you gonna play for Homecoming? :snicker:

There is no good thing for JSU no matter how you look at it it. Talent wins football games more than X's and O's. We won't have the talent they have. We are a middle of the pack (at best) 1-AA squad. That's not good enough to beat a sorry 1-A squad.

It's crazy. I have been saying for years that all Tulane needed to do was snatch all of the local priviate and magnet school talented players they could. It would be easy for them to turn aroung their program. They always picked up the trash that the PAC and Big Ten didn't want, and always got whipped. They always found local speed, but the same kids would always flunk out or could not get a good ACT score. I am glad to see someone like Curtis Johnson, who is from the area, at the HC position. I will be in the dome to watch Jackson attemp to pull of a FCS vs FBS upset.

I won't break down how they can upset Tulane because I am still shocked at what New Mexico did to SU. It was the Jackson fans who told me I was crazy for thinking SU had a shot. After the first half, I looked pretty bad on this board. LOL

Yeah, I remember that debate.. LOL ...and I will say the same thing I said then.. JSU has no chance.

Yeah man I agree. Most of this has to do with current Tulane President, he was so focused on making sure the school stayed in the top 50 he just said to hell with everything else. It the alumni and students to help get him on the path to upgrade the sports side of the school. Trust me it aint like they don't have any money.

LOL. You are right about that. They have the money. Finally, they are starting to dish it out to the athletic program. The are building a new stadium, going to the Big East, and are paying CJ pretty well. I just hope they don't turn into the Pony Express SMU program. If they start winning, I can see LSU's FBI unit in New Orleans. They already have a load of kids from St. Aug and John Curtis ready to sign. When was the last time you saw Tulane pull that off?

True.
That is why I said SU would not beat New Mexico even though they was sorry as hell. Even a really good FCS team has to play near perfect ball against a FBS school just to make up for the talent and depth they have over us.

Yeah we gone take our lumps against Tulane. If this game is played, I won't be expecting to win it.

You are absoulety right. I've never seen them pull that off. They would get some good players from time to time but not like they are doing now. That stadium looks nice on plans and to think they pulled that off with big donations to cover the remaining cost from three families. They just a built the $14 million includes Hertz Center which is the basketball-volleyball practice facility.

CJ became the real deal last season when he stole East Jeff's 4 star DB Darion Monroe from Texas A&M. Monroe had offers from 5 Big 12 schools and 3 SEC schools. Then he was able to get 3 start Lorenzo Doss from St. Aug to decommit from Kansas St to come to Tulane after he had offers from Minnesota, USM, and Utah. When I saw him pull that off, I said, "I hope Tulane ain't the new SMU".

CJ has done a pretty good job with in-state talent, especially talent from NOLA metro area. Only thing is I'd want to play them in the new Tulane Stadium their building right now. A nice fall afternoon in Uptown New Orleans around Tulane isn't bad at all.

They are going to open up the 2014 season vs SLU in the new stadium. I just don't understand how they didn't try to open up against SU after the attendance numbers from 01 and 02. You would think that they would want to open up with a bang. The new stadium only seats 30,000. SU has put 41K in the dome against Tulane.
