Scores from around the Nation - 11/03/12

Re: Scores From Around The Nation - 11/3/2012

LSU should have won this game by two scores. They clearly outplayed Bama.

But think about how many times we have seen LSU get outplayed and outcoached only to see him find some lucky way to escape with a win.

Re: Scores From Around The Nation - 11/3/2012

Yep. And you see it on all levels. Don't know why. It baffles me.

Florida did the same thing against Missouri too, but managed to get an INT from him overthrowing the WR.

Re: Scores From Around The Nation - 11/3/2012

Yeah next year, look for Florida, LSU, and Bama to be hitting all cylinders.

Actually I look for the entire SEC to be even tougher next season. Ms State if they don't lose Dan Mullen will be better. I think Arkansas will bring in a better coach and improve. Vanderbilt if they keep their coach will be tough. The only team I don't think will improve will be Tn if they bring Dooley back. SC will still be good because Clowney is only a Soph I believe. Auburn got a lot of work to do too.

Re: Scores From Around The Nation - 11/3/2012

I don't think A&M is ready for Alabama at Alabama. Depth on defense seems to be an issue with them. Also not enough big uglies on the DLine. They are a year or two away from having a top SEC defense. Their offense will cause Bama some issues but I believe Saban is going to have them ready to roll next week. Simply because he is pissed off about this game tonight.

The interesting game will be LSU vs Ms State next week. I want to see if Les gets the team to bounce back after the loss. Les seem dejected at his press conference.

Yes, I saw the press conference. I think they will bounce back though. They have too many weapons for State. Something definitely tells me though that A&M offense will look good next week and Bama may be a little flat from tonight. Saban will definitely let them know that danger is coming into Tuscaloosa next weekend. :emlaugh: It will definitely give them some mild type of look at what they are looking at against Oregon if that happens. Both defenses (Oregon and A&M) IMHO are suspect though.

They just have to keep Manziel contained in the pocket, and it will stop their offense.

I don't see A&M having that much success. It will probably be like their games against Florida and LSU where they look good early until those teams make adjustments and contain Manziel.Texas A&M has avoided playing in the tough SEC arenas so far(played Florida and LSU in College Station).

Yes now he is 36-2 in night games at Tiger Stadium and ahead 7-4 against Bama since arriving in Baton Rouge. He sure takes a lot of them on the chin. :emlaugh:

We'll see. You're right though they have not gone into a hostile SEC environment yet. It will be interesting to see how they respond.

Oh, Sumlin will beat lSU's ass too. And it will be even worse, cause they will still be scoring points even after the game is over. lSU can not stop a mobile QB.............and I cant wait, cause the Mad Hatter will take another one on the chin. :D

Oh yes I remember that year. USC doesn't have the depth to stop Oregon's offense. You need a physical offense that can really punish Oregon's defense and keep the ball out of their offense's hands to slow them down and give your defense a break.

It took Oregon 1:15 of actual time to score a touchdown. That's insane.

Have to give USC credit because they went down 21-3 fast, but fought their way back in the game. One thing though, either you better have a high-flying offense or one that can knock some time off the clock, because Oregon will blow you away fast.

That's the only way to slow down that offense short of getting turnovers. If they are allowed to get that uptempo offense going, there aren't very many teams in the country who can do anything about it.

I was listening to the Alabama game on my way back from Houston and after Alabama beat LSU, I too noticed how the LSU radio announcer kept mentioning how both SU & Grambling lost. He kept referring to those games as if it would erase that 2-minute drive Saban & the Tide put on LSU.

LSU may have outplayed Alabama, but once again, Saban out coached & out scored Les Miles.

DCG, If you don't mine me asking, what is your son name and what position does he play?

He is Corey Thompson #12, Free Safety...he has been getting playing time on SP Teams(starting since 3rd game...Punk and Kick), second team defense...last night half tackle makes a total of 10 on the season!
