Being that they are probably the only all boys Black private high school in the State of Louisiana, I think St. Aug. is a great school too, but I would never put them on a pedestal higher than my high school. Peabody Magnet High School has a very rich tradition too.
3 people lol.

look at this shyt 3 people even if that happen it was three too many...as for what is going on now that kid want to be at LSU and he wants to play this year...hoping to get to the NFL...if he had reasonable people around him he would go to school wherever he chooses and sit out a year get himself together and then come back to football and may still have a chance to get to the NFL...but everybody around him is after money right now and so they are not addressing the real issue!
So why would they deny JSU the right to talk to him and hand him over to McNeese State?
eerrhh Jag89,
You not about to do a version of Bighead and start slapping people that wear St. Aug gear are you? :emlaugh: If so slap your 1st 20 in the New Orleans' 7th ward. :emlaugh:
Why would I slap a St. Aug grad? They haven't done anything to me. Plus, they already do that to themselves. But my bad, the Josephites suspended corporal punishment after Katrina, at least on paper. Isn't that right Alpha3?
 :emlaugh:
Bighead had me rolling yesterday about slapping black people that wear LSU gear.
And I bet he was serious too. I hope he doesn't get shot doing that.

Damn corporal punishment and Katrina, you slap me and I'm going medieval on you. :devil2::lol:

Jrock, If they find Big Head on the South Side laid up, I am blaming you.
Did you go medieval on folks when you attended St. Aug., which was before Katrina? I heard the Band Director the late Mr. Hampton (a.k.a. Hamp) would literally kick a person straight in their backside when they messed up. I can remember a few old heads who marched in St. Aug’s band saying that they witness Hamp’s foot lifting a band member who had just screwed up straight in the air and the dude flew about 8 yards down the practice field before he hit the ground. I always figured that story was another one of those New Orleans folklores, but if it is not, I’m sure you didn’t let that happen to you.
Hell yeah, trying to get to and from school was an adventure for everyone especially St Aug guys. Dudes at other schools hated us because the chicks that went to school with them wanted us. So yeah, you had to kick azz every once and while. During school that would be no, because I didnt do anything that required that type of action. I knew if I did something crazy I had three sets of whippings coming my way from my parents, and both sets of grandparents. As for as the band goes, everybody knows Mr. Hampton didn't play when it came to the band. He was a military man that believed in discipline and you see how well that band is respected and its accomplishments. Not sure about that situation you mentioned but yeah he did what he had to do for his part in helping us become men.
Compared to what he has experienced at LSU? Remember a pig with lipsticks is still a pig. :emlaugh:
I wasn't fed anything. I went to SU initially when I could have went to LSU initially. I wanted to go to a HBCU but SU wasn't for me. Many people say that going to LSU you'll just be another number or you'll be mistreated on account of race. I can say I never felt that...I wasn't looking for it either. The resources at a major state university just can't be overstated. I mean LSU had more tutorial services and I never had a problem meeting with a professor to discuss a grade or my progress in their class as well as receiving career advice from them. I still have relationships with my professors from LSU. Being that SU professors have a larger teaching load than professors at Research-I institutions like LSU, the professors at LSU have more time to get to know and help their students. Basically, if you come to class and participate at LSU, regardless of how big the class is, you will get more than enough one on one attention. At SU, I had some good professors but they were simply overworked and underfunded. Now, I did have a professor at SU to insult me but I don't project his trifling ways onto SU though.
If anybody on here doesn't think Southern isn't a threat to LSU the you're delirious - including "Kamala."
LSU was nothing in the eyes of college football until recently with Saban. Before that LSU was mediocre at best with a few big wins here and there. Why? How? Southern and Grambling had and always will dominate the hearts and loyalty of Blacks in Louisiana. No one is stupid. Louisiana Blacks who send their kids to SU, Grambling, Dillard and Xavier understand that Republicans could care less if those students were hanging ina noose or out in the cottonfields. Which is why I don't and never will understand anyone who is Black cheering and rooting for LSU - "Kamala" included.
And while we're on schools...real talk, LSU is not that impressive when it comes to academics. Like someone stated earlier, its all a mind game in Lousiana. Southern is the national school compared to LSU's "super state flagship status." SU's out of state population far exceeds that of LSU. Don't believe this hype. If you visited (and came across a Black kid from Brooklyn or Detroit, chances are they're at SU - they would have no reason for being a student at LSU. Also I've noticed outside state lines SU and LSU alumni are on even footing - and they can't stand it! Lol
And, because of the political climate and hostility in Louisiana, I would place Southern's national influence over LSU any day. Fly to Philly, D.C. Atlanta, Chicago, Texas and you will see success of Southern graduates totally contradicts everything this guy "Kamala" and the rest of those Blacks at LSU say about SU. I wasn't impressed then and by the looks of things, not impressed now. So, whoever on here thinks SU is not a threat to LSU is drinking serious Kool-aid. I'm not from Louisiana and I could see the writing on the wall.
SARCASTIC SIDE NOTE: Dang, Mathieu, can we step off the plantation for a second dude? LSU kicks you off their team but denies SU and JSU from talking to you? You're certified going to the pros brotha. You can hop scotch at BRCC for two years and still make it to the pros. Damn, massa got you trained kid!
Do you post on tigerdroppings?I never said SU graduates can't succeed or anything near that. Stop the projecting and insecurity. I will say the SU graduates that I know who are successful would've been successful regardless of where they went to school and you can say the same of any successful people.
Furthermore, yes, there are SU graduates all over the country, to compare it to the number of LSU graduates across the country regarding a national brand is silly. And, SU having more national influence than LSU? Ok...
Til this day, I know Grambling has more NFL Hall of Famers than LSU. My dad and grandfather both played for Grambling, so you aren't telling me anything I don't know. But, with that said, those days of SWAC schools producing perennial all-pros and hall of famers are over. And, in the future I don't see this LSU football train slowing down. So, while the past may give some a measure of pride and it should, build upon where you presently are and be the best FCS school you can be.
