On a brighter note, USA Mens Olympic Basketball will lose lol

Come on, JR. Actually Nigeria had 2 NBA players.

And that means what? Just because they have two NBA players don't mean squat. Yall can kill that. Some of the guys that are still playing overseas are better than them cats. LOL.

Nothing whatsoever. A bad team is a bad team in the same way a bad player is a bad player. Being in the NBA doesn't automatically make players better. Without question, there has been improvement in international teams, but the size of that improvement has been greatly overstated. I don't believe PER is the end all be all statistic, but this bears repeating. Of the top 30 players in PER this past season, 8 are on the US team. The rest of the teams combined have 2.

Exactly. This years teams look worse than the 04 collection of teams. Outside of the US and Spain. The rest are second tier. Just because they have NBA players mean nothing. France has Parker and Diaw. Parker is a star. But Diaw is an average NBA player now. He done gained weight and is not as explosive as he used to be. Argentina has Ginobli but this is an older Ginobli. The German team sucks and so does the Russian team. There is nobody on that team that was as good as Sabonis was back in the day. AK47 is all they have. The Eastern European teams have dropped off tremendously over time. Hell their Olympic teams suck across the board. USA, China and Japan are leading in the medal count.

People came on the sports board saying foolish crap about this team will lose and they don't have to team chemistry, blah blah blah. A lot of you all are not making sense at all lol

P88 was the only one who said that. LOL.

This Nigerian team is equivalent to the international teams of 1992. All of them were trash, you know that Frat lol. Argentina and Brazil have pretty decent teams this year.

Not all of them were trash. The European teams overall then were better than they are now. Do realize in the gold medal round against Croatia, that the US played against 5 players on that team that were future NBA players? Drazen Petrovic was a beast. Had he not gotten killed. He would have been a star in the NBA. His death set the Nets back. Kukoc was on that team as well. Lithuania was the bronze medal team that year and had Sabonis who played with Portland and Sarunus Marcilounos who had just been the 6th man of the year runner up in the NBA comming off the bench at Golden State behind Run TMC (Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin).

What a great day this is. The exposure is just RIGHT around the corner. But, just as long as the guys can "dunk" :retard:, that makes them the best ball players in the world and stupid americans who know no better think this is how basketball is to be played: one-on-one dunkfest lol.

:retard: lol

Damn! I forgot the OC has already awarded the gold medals to the usa=========> :retard:

How did I ever miss the ceremony?

Don't know if I agree that. I think the teams as a whole now are better. The latin teams are a lot stronger as a whole and the there is some strong talent on the European teams. There are 6 NBA players on France alone, including Tony Parker. There are 7 NBA players on the Spanish team. This include the Gasol brothers, Serge Ibaka, and Rudy Fernandez who almost helped pull the ipset in '08. Argentina has 5, Brazil had four, Lithuania - 4, Russia -3. A lot of the players on those teams are frontline NBA players. As good as Drazen Petrovic was, Ginobili and Parker are better. Now Sabonis was great....there are far more good big men in this tournament for the competition this year. The Gasol brothers, Ibaka, Nene, Scola, Kirelenko, & Verajeo are all frontline bigmen in the NBA.

Hakeem Olajuwon is not walking thought that door. If he did he would be old. The Dream could have not have helped his native Nigeria.

The Dreamer Team had a moral loss today. Poor things couldn't even beat the spread and was behind in the 4th quarter. We will count this as a loss. :emlaugh:

This younger generation of NBA stars have really devalued the game of basketball. They need someone like Michael Jordan cussing them out, kicking their azzes in the locker room, and kicking their azzes during practice. When I saw Big Baby Davis cry on the bench after Kevin Garrett got into his sh!t, I knew then the league had gotten soft. What Big Baby should have done is gone back into the game and turned into a monster and said fvck Kevin Garrett. But no, his big azz rather stay on the bench and cry like a baby, which is probably why they start calling him Big Baby.

I wholeheartedly and respectfully disagree. International basketball OVERALL has vastly improved since 1992.

I have not taken the time to read all of the posts in this thread, but the Dream Team of 1992 didn't play nearly the level of competition that the more recent USA teams have faced. In fact, its been argued that it was the 92 dream team that help catapult international basketball as we know it now.

My argument isn't that this team is better than the 1992 dream team, but I don't think enough credit is given to the other teams that the USA has faced up to this point.
