One thing I have noticed about the international teams is they have a good starting 5 but after that uhhh. This is one reason why other teams keep up with the US until the second half. True the intl players have caught up, but they don't understand rotations and the concepts of ball movement. Prime example, Argentinians couldn't understand why Popovich didn't start Ginobli. Ginobli tried to explain but they just couldn't understand why. Those intl teams don't have much depth after their starting 5, that is why you see a lot of late starts and second half blowouts by the USA

Spain is not deep enough, this Russia vs Spain match up was the battle for second place. If you read all of the dumb comments on the 1st and 2nd page you will know that these guys dont know too much about bball and just was posting out of pure hate or trying to make jokes.

Frat, it was only one person who said this team would lose. The creator of this thread. The rest of us just said the original Dream Team was better than this one but we all agreed outside of P, that USA would win the gold. And to me, certain countries who used to be strong in basketball have fallen off as other countries have gotten better. Only Spain and Argentina is really legit. Russia and Lithuania are not as strong as they have been in the past. They both have a few players that are okay. But that close call against the USA won't happen again. US team was sleepwalking in that game. Croatia is used to be nice back in the day. But they suck now. Did they even make it to the Olympics? Germany, Turkey, Greece, etc all have fallen off. The Chinese have no hope either. I mean the poor Germans have really fallen hard across the board in the Olympics. No where near as good as they used to be. Must have been them roids. LOL.
 
Based on the abysmal display I witnessed from them weeks ago, I still assert they'll lose if they continue(d) down the path I saw. It was a horrific display of basketball, IMHO. I'm not one of those blacks who gets caught up in "daydreaming wishful emotionalism" :emlaugh:, like so numerous other 'typicals.' :swink: I'm a realist and quite logical. Logically, based upon what I saw, it was inevitable that they lose. :|
